  • URGENT! CONFIRMED! 200 MILLION FOR THE ARSENAL! [ARSENAL FC NEWS DIARY]
Arsenal is intensifying its interest in Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães. With growing frustration over the lack of response to the salary offer made to Spanish international Martin Zubimendi, the Gunners have turned their attention to Guimarães. We have already revealed that neither Arsenal nor Manchester City plan to trigger the Brazilian’s release clause. However, Newcastle’s need to balance their finances might open an opportunity. The Magpies’ financial troubles could force them to accept offers for the playmaker, possibly including player-plus-cash deals. Arsenal has several players who could leave the Emirates this summer, such as Oleksandr Zinchenko, Emile Smith Rowe, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Eddie Nketiah, and Thomas Partey, who could be offered to Newcastle as part of the deal. Signing Bruno Guimarães would be a significant addition to our squad, especially if a structured payment can be agreed upon, as has been done with other signings.
Another important news item today is that Italian agent Andrea D'Amico has indicated that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could be on his way to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal among the interested clubs. Osimhen, whose contract with Napoli runs for another two seasons, has attracted the attention of several elite European clubs as well as teams from Saudi Arabia. Despite lucrative offers from Al Hilal and Al-Ahli, Osimhen seems to prefer continuing his career in Europe. D'Amico mentioned that decisions about Osimhen’s future will be made after the European Championship, as many clubs want to evaluate players' performances during major tournaments before making their final offers. "It is too early to say, there is a clause and, in my opinion, we will have to wait until the end of the European Championship," said D'Amico. He added that the Premier League is the most likely destination for Osimhen, with Arsenal and other unidentified clubs interested in signing him.
The renowned Qatari broadcaster BeIn Sports has secured the broadcasting rights for the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League in Asian countries starting from next season, valid until the 2026-27 season. This multi-million-pound deal will bring significant financial gains to the participating clubs, including Arsenal, and is valued at £200 million per year, totalling £600 million over three years.
UEFA will follow its established method to distribute this substantial amount. Clubs receive a base amount for participating in the competitions, along with additional prizes as they progress through the stages. The distribution system includes a "market pool" and a coefficient scheme aimed at dividing the money equitably. Arsenal is well-positioned to benefit from this distribution.
After a seven-season hiatus, Arsenal returned to the Champions League in the 2023-24 season. Under the management of Mikel Arteta, the club reached the quarter-finals, earning almost £78.5 million. This amount could increase significantly if Arsenal replicates or surpasses this performance next season, especially with UEFA's expanded system. While some clubs may receive up to £18 million just for participating, Arsenal is projected to earn much more.
In the ten-year club coefficient ranking, Arsenal is in 15th place. Based on this position, the club could receive around £15 million from the coefficient pool next season. UEFA has assured that there will be no changes to the distribution method. Arsenal's regular participation over the years will secure a substantial payment, rewarding their historical success in European tournaments.
Additionally, the market pool will also benefit Arsenal, as it is based on the national broadcast agreements of the clubs. With the lucrative TV contract the UK has for Champions League rights, Arsenal can expect to earn around £14 million. The new BeIn contract with UEFA suggests an increase in this amount, further improving the club's financial situation. This revised deal raises the value of the commercial rights of European competitions, bringing more money to Arsenal, a club with a global fanbase.
"We are excited about the financial opportunities this new deal brings," stated Mikel Arteta.
