The best thing about the Spiderman: No Way Home teaser is that it got everyone talking about who else might show up, and whether we would see other Peter Parkers as well as the villains. The buzz generated by that trailer was insane. And it did not disappoint.

  • @myredenvelopes

The teaser trailer for Star Trek (2009) was an absolute smash, in my opinion.
It opens with a close-up of a welder's torch igniting, followed by some tantalizing glimpses of what he and other builders are working on. Meanwhile, embedded within the haunting music, we hear various historic soundbites about space exploration from the 1960s. Finally, the legendary Leonard Nimoy chimes in with "Space, the final frontier...", just as it's revealed that the construction project is none other than the iconic USS Enterprise. Cut to: a glowing arrowhead badge, followed by a title card that reads "UNDER CONSTRUCTION - SUMMER 2009". No movie title was necessary, as it was instantly recognizable.
Absolute perfection! It sure had me champing at the bit!

Teaser for The original Spider-Man (2002) Even though it was pulled from theaters because of the image of the criminals helicopter caught in web between the World Trade Center Buildings was still a must see pull-in to the film. How did the original 'Alien' teaser not make the list? Panning across the screen to focus on a intergalactic landscape revealing a space 'egg' which suddenly cracks emitting light from the opening to the sound of creepy music and ending with the tagline "in Space, no one can hear you scream". The teaser reveals absolutely nothing of the xenomorph to come yet leaves the moviegoer curious if not completely tantalized by its message and mystery. And I was hooked from the first time I saw the trailer over 40 years ago. Memorable-absolutely! My personal #1 movie teaser of all time.

For me you've got to go with something like The Blair Witch Project. The hype that both the trailer, and especially the marketing put together hasn't been replicated. I remember seeing the trailer for it and thinking we were actually going to see something real. And the weblink at the end (which was still a fairly new thing back in the late 90s) just increased the feeling that this was something that needed to be seen.

In my opinion I think the 2007 transformers movie had the best teaser. the reason I think that is because in November of 2006 I knew nothing about it and I was trying to watch the original 1986 movie on CZcams (10 minute clips at a time) and accidentally came across the teaser for the live action movie coming out the following summer so I went from enjoying one of my favourite movies of my childhood to 1000% excitement for the following summer. All without seeing any of the transformers or anything just a sound.

The best teaser I've seen in my life is the second one for The Force Awakens (the one with 'The force is strong in my family' in it). No other teaser has ever hyped me up that much. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the actual movie (although it's the best one in the trilogy and has some redeeming features, such as Adam Driver's performance).

Disney Dinosaur was breath taking. 6 minutes of early CGI. If just dinosaur roaming. With no hint of what the story is,,,, Masterpiece if a teaser

In an era without CZcams and with people actually only going to a movie the see a teaser trailer then walking out of the film not even caring despite how good of a movie it was STAR WARS EPISODE 1 tops most of that. Heck it actually made evening news because it was the first time you actually had people camping out for a movie and a lot of other things when it first shown in theaters.

Fucking loved Girl with the Dragon Tattoo teaser. The fact I love the books and Trent Renzor made it even better. Anchorman is my favorite movie so I was hyped for the sequel. For Godzilla,The Matrix and Austin Powers I remember seeing them as a preteen.

#11 reminds me of how I still love the story of how James Cameron pitched his next project to FOX execs. On a dry erase board, he wrote "Alien". Then he added an S to make "Aliens", And then he put a couple lines in the "S" so it read: "Alien$".
And he was correct. It made many $$$.

Even though the movie sucked, 2012 had SUCH a good teaser trailer.
