Thanks JC for the great info and chuckles. My first snowbird trip from Canada after selling Calgary house in August 2018 and maybe only one to Arizona area. I must be up in Dawson Creek for my 70th on May 5th 2019. I shouldn't have towed my old 5th wheel all this way to Quartzsite and Yuma. What I should have done is go directly to Mexico but my decision was rushed. Next winter is all spoken for to be in England and visiting family on the Mediterranean coast. I was only in Mexico once, a week in old Puerto Vallarta just before xmas 2006 so saw the hotel staff party. Happy days.
We may have been in the same hotel at the same time. We like the beach in December. We've stayed in three different hotels south of the bridge. :)

I did the same thing, "casserole" style, but I bought roasted chiles because I was too lazy to roast them myself, only I used corn tortillas instead of batter. So, we call it Enchilada Casserole. And Lynn, I thought the "donkey" ride was hilarious, only I was expecting a real donkey..SURPRISE!

Lynne is so much fun! You are truly a lucky man! I love your contactor story! They could have tried taking the scaffolding apart. I once asked a worker to paint the inside back of the cabinets and came back to find he had painted the back that goes on the wall! You gotta keep an eye on everything!
Well, at least you didn't have to repaint the back to hide it. :)

Very fun video, Jerry! I'm a chilli relleno fan, too. I've never tried your version, but it looks... interesting. Enjoyed the chocolate joke, the rebar story and the nice photos of Lynn. It was good to hear you both laugh, while you endure the chilly rain in Oregon! The wait for Lynn's ride on the donkey was worth it!

My first family trip to La Mision, Puerto Nuevo, Ensenada in Baja. I took my husband and adult son just to see their reaction and to talk about retiring in Mexico. We stayed at both Gary La Fonda hotels. One is Demitris La Fonda and the other is Gary’s La Fonda. I guess there is some story about partners breaking up the business. Gary’s was the only place that I could find that accepted pets.The view was radically wonderful - front seat ocean waves crashing and the freshest air I have ever inhaled. The place was just too rustic for my comfort so went next door to Dimitris La Fonda who doesn’t accept pets but made an exception A step above Gary’s but still great ocean view. In Ensenada we stayed right in the heart of tourist downtown at Posada Rey Sol. Great location but no ocean view. Had a great time! Son, husband and dog are all on board with the plan to make MX our retirement home even though last minute I took everyone to visit the Fish market at the port and we ate seafood - couldn’t resist. It was great. Two days later, we are back home, glad that we went, can’t wait to explore more of Baja, and, spending a lot of time on the toilet 😆
Mexico is a big country. Ensenada and tourist areas are a small part of the experience. You've not see the best, yet. :)

I love Ensenada fish tacos., There is nice restaurants in Puerto Nuevo that serve good lobster with huge fresh mande flour tortillas mmm!!

I have my doubts for your vibration in the suzuki. Engine mounts usually are noticed under acceleration or deceleration. Speed specific vibrations are usually things like drivelines or tires.
If it was me i'd start with tire and wheel inspection. Double check the torque of the lugnuts and than check for missing weights. if you can jack the car up and spin the wheels while looking for deformation in the rubber or any wobble.
New tires didn't help. Its the rear u-joint. Thanks for the info. :)

Ha! Your story brought to mind a 20 year old incident that I don't mention much when I was building a greenhouse and I built my ladder into the roof rafter. That was my last greenhouse. Oh well, nobody is perfect. Lynn looked great on the donkey!!

I have an 8000 lb tow bar ... Excalibur by Demco. Its overkill, but I like it because its easy to hook up and hardly noticable on the car when its unhooked. Mine is 18 years old. I don't know anything about new ones. No doubt there are cheaper, better, newer models.
The locals do not appear amused.

LOL! You clearly did not miss out on a grand career as a chef! However, I must admit to wishing that I could just grab me a big scoop of that chile relleno bowl to give it a taste. To me, it seems little different from Chipotle turning their burrito into a burrito bowl and I am all for a little creativity when cooking.
When you mentioned you were going to show us Lynn riding a donkey I hadn't the slightest idea it was going to be the coin-operated version! That was just hilarious and Lynn clearly enjoyed every darn minute of it and got her money's worth.
I think refusing to explain the contest at Rincon de Guayabitos was a wise move on your part and the video itself was explanation enough, though I think I was still in the final throes of cackling about the wild donkey ride! Great little stories, as usual.

Separated tire belt? As por motor mount. Open hood. Have someone start the motor. Put E brake on. Put in gear of auto trans..if stick ease out clutch in low gear. You look at motor..If a bad/loose mount the engine will twist and move . Do this test both in forward and reverse. Should tell you something. Good luck. Sounds more like a tire thing. Thanks

I knew you and I had a lot in common, but the Chile Relleno casserole thing is not cool.
Let me tell you what happened about a month ago.
I'm a girl that can't let a sale go to waste and came across a sale on chiles. You can probably imagine where this is going. So, anyway. I came home with what felt like 50 chiles too many. After 2 hours in the kitchen, just roasting the chiles and serious case of buyers remorse. I came up with the same recipe as you. But I ended up with 4 casseroles. I had so many I gave some away. Everyone kept talking about the casserole for days. Now they request it and think I'm a genius.
If they only knew.
On another note, your wife is awesome. You could hear the torture in her voice when you told her about what was coming up in your video.

Life, marriage, relationships, and this youtube channel are not about horror stories. When you've watched more, perhaps you'll get it that we've laughed our way through the bad times. You should reflect on why you think she and I might see things differently. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that it comes from your mind.

Think it’s caked a TOPA.....well I’m making up T shirts saying ...TOPA GOT ME.....my Harley..show bike ..ripped half the darn engine cover off..I just put it back in the trailer....these. TOPA things...as far as I can see are.....horrible... we are even slow down....they seem to camouflage them...

- With regards to your Suzuki...
I am sure that your mechanic has it under wraps, but... those Suzukis also experience vibration at certain speeds, due to worn Universal Joints in the front and/or rear driveshafts. The vibration often changes slightly between accelleration, coasting, and deccelleration. (Very similar to symptoms of worn engine mounts.) So, if the new motor mounts don't abate the issue, perhaps a look at the U-Joints will help. Best of Luck!
My Soul has a shimmy in neutral. I notice it just sitting at lites. What do u think that could be?
Kia replaced half the engine trying to stop that. Took out the motor when mysterious engine lite came on. Only 60 thou on car.

Well... I'm not looking to circumvent the topic of this channel to provide automotive diagnosis on the comment forum... but, since I am the one that first mentioned the issue, I guess I can play along.
There is a long list of possible causes for unwanted vibrations in an automobile. Some of the most common are intake vacuum leaks, dirty fuel injectors, and incorrect fuel pressure at the injector rail. Sounds like you've had mechanics involved in the diagnosis for a while now. The first thing that they would have done is to check for OBD codes with a coder reader at the OBD port. Assuming they have corrected all related code issues, and are still shaking their heads, the search becomes a mechanical one. Sometimes, weird issues occur that surprise even a seasoned mechanic. One such issue is an unbalanced torque converter. It is possible for clutch sludge (inside the torque converter) to build up unevenly and create an imbalance that is apparent only at a specific rpm. Other times, a faulty O2 sensor may not show a OBD code, but alter fuel injection enough to create a "lean misfire" at a Neutral Idle rpm, but will go away when the transmission is placed in gear, as the fuel injection pulse width is increased slightly to maintain the factory preset idle speed.
Unfortunately, the chance of me accurately diagnosing your car, sight unseen, via the internet is slim. Of course, you are welcome to show this comment to your mechanic, and if I've managed to suggest something that he has not already considered (although not likely) perhaps it may offer a new diagnostic path to follow. The current diagnosis of my Suzuki is that its the back u-joint. I'll get it fixed when I'm in one place for a couple of weeks. Thanks for all the info on possible problems. :)

They kept it 3 weeks and stove it 2,090 miles and the engine prevent off but it shakes as much as ever. I saw the engine out so I know they tried.
Thank u a lot. In will copy this 4 KIA. The Kia techbsaid he never saw so much engine trouble in a Soul . lucky me. Warranty ended today. I gave up leaving it with them.
