Fantastic movie. I definitely like seeing DiCaprio in more down to earth type roles instead of his usual supernova performance. He slayed in this but Ridley Scott made it possible with a very well made movie.
Damn with that haircut, beard, brown eyes and tanned skin DiCaprio looks awesome.

This movie is AHEAD of its time for sure. Just watched it now in 2018, with all the Wikileaks and "lies" we are exposing to everyday...is very chilling. It's very close to reality or at least it feels that way.

‘Not bad’ lol understatement of the year. It’s a brilliant spy thriller.
Shutter Island sends shivers down your spine. This gripping thriller and mystery captivates with its numerous twists and turns that leave you constantly guessing. Leonardo DiCaprio delivers an outstanding performance, showcasing his prowess in complex, mind-bending roles. Mark Ruffalo's character, along with Ben Kingsley and the entire cast and crew, add depth and intrigue to the film.
It's an injustice that Mark Strong his been kept out of the trailer. He stole the show as Hani Salam.

Underrated movie
Pure masterpiece, this and "spy game" starring Robert Redford and Brad Pitt are the most underrated movies when it comes spy thriller genre, ironically "spy game" was directed by Tony Scott brother of Ridley Scott. Don't know why hollywood won't make movies like this one anymore, in this age OTT all we got is crap like "the gray man" which was utterly garbage when compared to these movies or bourne series.
Spy game, tinker tailor soldier spy, a most wanted man; classic action less spy movie.
@@akuinibinatangjalang I have seen all of them n here are my absolutely top favourite n must see - spy game, Bourne trilogy, body of lies. Personally I found "tinker tailor soldier spy" to be very slow paced n kind of boring, I enjoyed "a good shepherd" more than that one. It boils down to personal preferences, I would rather read a good book written by a real spy veteran than watch those slow paced spy thriller movies.
Argo (2012) was good.
I just watched this again, and I was just so impressed with it. When I first watched it I did not appreciate it as much, I guess just looking for the action scenes. There is attention to detail in it that makes it a well crafted piece. Some of the scene cuts are interesting, at times appearing too rapid, but in the end delivering just the right amount of information.
A very realistic film with no ones side to be with!

This film grew on me I wasn't a believer on the first go. It's decent it keeps a healthy pace, DiCaprio is watchable, he makes the best of a decent script.
One thing i am confised about... Why they keep on mentioning Amman rather than Jordan.... E. G one tme when dicaprio was heading for dubai after omer sidik work... russel crow asks dicaprio to go amman.... And dicaprio follows... But he landed at Queen Alia airport which is in Jordan... And this is just one incident i qouted...

It was unusually boring for a film starring DiCaprio.
There was nothing boring about it. A hard look into the reality of the corruption and politics between the US and Middle Eastern powers that be, or would you prefer fake action trash like the last few fast and furious films?

The screenplay is childish ... and we continued watching because of the cast DiCaprio and Crowe but had to give up after 2/3 ... it was just trying too hard to be cute. Typical scene: Crowe is answering a call from an endangered DiCaprio at 3am while he helps his young son to point at the toilet ... hows that for concentration? Awful film.
