Will, no one can -- or will ever -- top your performance of MacArthur Park on Letterman.

As soon as we saw the full orchestra and then Will stepped up to the mic, you knew something special was going to happen. From Will's emotional performance of MacArthur Park, you could catch the Spirit of how that Band thought of Richard Harris. The number of times that Richard would walk over to Dave and the band playing that song. One time it looked like Richard was going to sing, but he just sat down. When I watch Will Lee sing MacArthur Park, I feel like somewhere inside, in the Soul, Will was picking up for Richard. What Will did that night is for me, the greatest and most emotional performance on TV, ever! God rest Richard's Soul. I know how much he and Peter O'Toole meant to that show. God Bless you Will. You are an influence and a very critically important musician in the grand scheme of things.

Great interview. Is there a reason why these two are both wearing white shirts with black vests?

Will brings up a track that really touched him at 48:28 . I tried to look up the artist/track, spelling it different ways and I can't find it. Anyone help.

Does every musician in the world have to live through the drug addiction story?

    • @helenfelton2845

It's not a "story",it's your life(or death) and I lost my drummer husband to addiction. Will Lee is honest and has a big heart. He was asked the question and gave a helpful answer. Please back off things if you don't understand them.

Interesting, but probably more interesting for musicians. As a Letterman fan I was hoping to hear details about working on Late Night; why some of the band members were replaced, if Dave was ever an ass, who were some of the best and worst famous musicians to work with, if the daily grind got tiring, how things changed in the move to CBS, etc.
