You'll need to clarify where you put the repeater at. Is it near your router? Then that means your router is the real problem. It's signal is weak. Others might have a good router but with the wrong placement of the repeater, it will still not work.
Main concerns people want a repeater: 1) Because WiFi signal doesn't reach a certain part of their house. You must make sure the repeater has good "path" between the router AND your device. Router --- Repeater --- Device If your room has too many obstacles, then you will still get low connections. It depends on how well you place the repeater. Router --- THICK WALL ××× Repeater ××× Device. If the place you put your repeater has low signal in the first place. Most likely still won't work. This is what I got from another video. It seems it depends on individual cases. I hope for my home will work. 2) WiFi speed will improve? It will improve ONLY IF your device Internet speed is slow due to low signal. For example, in your room, low signal, slow internet. Near router, strong signal, fast Internet. In this case, the repeater "might" help for your device to get the "original" Internet speed. I say "might" because I haven't bought the repeater. I've been searching for videos but I keep seeing people asking for these questions. Unfortunately the reviews usually don't tackle the problems people face in the videos. It is hard because different people are facing different problems. Some has a device on different floors, some wants to use outside their house, or garage, and so forth.

This product is great no doubt. My router is at first floor and this extender is at second floor. It's working! But with 2.4GHz, just don't expect more hahaha but trust me it's great product
For 5Ghz there is other version right, Mi Wifi Extender AC1200. That's why there I read some bad review, could be they trying to connect this one with their 5ghz Wifi.
Those repeaters are awesome, I have 2, they work like a charm even in sub zero temperatures, high humidity or high temperatures. One of them is in the house, the other on the outside. Can't recommend them enough.
I tried the device. It does not work efficiently when you are surrounded of many concrete walls, a 5% efficiency or no at all. But it works when the repeater, phone, and router are at 5 meters apart.

I have that product it's working properly only few downsides: 1. The WIFI keeps disconnecting saying No Internet or Obtaining IP address is so long, this is due to WIFI extender's IP conflict try converting the extender to the static IP that is far enough to the other IP's 2. There is a delay in the WIFI extender like 50 to 100 ms to the main router so online games is not practical. 3. No admin page for this WIFI this is more like a plug and play than a configurable WIFI The internet is same as the wifi router sometimes slow but the good thing about it is they are have a wider range than my Router WIFI range like 2.5x assuming they are transmitting at the same place
Bruh but you should tell us what's your internet speed normally, how are we supposed to know if you have 100mb net and 14 on repeated or 20 net and 14 or repeater 😄 main part of testing is not there
exactly - you need a before and after test to know the difference; and also a before and after test on the range. eg did it extend the range by 20m but slows the speed by 50%? = compromise or extends the range by 20m and doesnt affect the speed = great. Or extends the range 3m but reduce the speed by 90% = crap.

Its buggy, have to reconnect every once in a while esp when it is far from the main router, have to place it near to work properly then it will say repeater is too close to the main router, like wth right
I got mine just now and overall it’s a fail. I connected it to my router at our main home and installed the repeater on our secondary home which is just 20 feet away. Sometimes the repeater loses it’s signal from the main router for some unknown reason.

Everybody shows a set up but nobody talks about the fact that you must download the app. You must have an xiaomi account to be able to download the app. No use for me now after i bought one

@@enashimo Try to set on the main router like 192.168.1.50 to your computer the one affected it. IP must far enough that you can able to access the computer at the same time able to access it. Xiaomi Mi Repeater doesn't have option for static IP setup so do in your computer or in router. You can search in the website on setting static router in your PC or in phones. Most high quality WIFI repeaters like TP-Link AX1500 Wi-Fi Range Extender cost less than 5000 pesos have this static IP configuration and setup or just buy WIFI mesh system, PLDT offer this but expensive.

You are a good neighbor. It would depend how far is your neighbor from your router. If they can detect your current WiFi now then this would help boost the signal

Bought this some time ago but never got it to work. Downloaded the App but never got past the log in page. Asks for phone number or email and verification code or password. No mention of where to get either a verification code or password. Tried my router password and my yahoo password but no use. Nothing in this video to explain how to register on the app.

What's up! Thank you for watching all the way from Portugal. Unfortunately this will vary since it would depend on your main router's signal. Initially set it up near the router then plug it somewhere between the main router and the WiFi weak spots. The Mi Home app will indicate how good the signal is based on where you will plug the Repeater Pro so you can adjust the location. I hope this helps. Cheers.
I've found some of these cheap devices won't connect using secure wifi protocols. (there are several options within most wifi routers, tho many people just leave their wifi routers set on 'auto' and never really know which configuration is used) anyone able to confirm which wifi security protocol they are using with their unit? I have a unit purchased via aliexpress, seller tells me to configure with the unit servers set to 'chinese mainland' (huge red flag - maybe seller sent out a unit not intended for use in Australia) Lesson learned : only buy unfamiliar equipment from resellers within my country.

Hi, a lot of factors to consider because this is on wifi. One option is to move the router to another location and see if the wifi signal improves or reset the router to see if the error clears and continue using it at the same location.

Hi. I already solved the problem. My another problem was everytime i disconnect my wifi connection to the repeater, it is not automatically reconnect on the repeater. It always require password for the repeater everytime i reconnect it.
I had problem with the setting but now it okay (thank to your video) I test it from 1.7MB to 14MB download I was thinking ill get 200 or 300% but this is good
The pro is up to 120 metre radius due to its 2X2 antenna. I don't have the exact number for the USB but since it does not have external antenna the range it about 1/3 of the pro and it will easily go down with walls in between.
I need to know if the Extender support 2X2 MIMO configuration or not . Cause the Cheapest AP already have MIMO .Even USB WiFi Adapter. Device nowdays utilize it. Even the price range below $100USD

If resetting it does not work return it
It's IP conflict in the router, try converting your extender to static IP, it works for me and I never disconnect again

after 2 weeks the repeater died. Just use an old modem and ethernet cable to extend your wifi network.

Yes, it increases your range of your wifi, but what is the comparison between the speed of your internet and the speed when connected to the repeater? I have the extender home and my speed is significantly reduced from 120Mbs to 12Mbs. Do you know the reason?
The location of the extender might not be good. You can use the Mi Home app to diagnose the signal.

This repeater connect with main wifi but the problem is the repeater is not shown.. thereby i can't change

Bought this some time ago but never got it to work. Downloaded the App but never got past the log in page. Asks for phone number or email and verification code or password. No mention of where to get either a verification code or password. Tried my router password and my yahoo password but no use. Nothing in this video to explain how to register on the app.

If I reset the main router, do I need to rest the MI wifi repeater? I always do this always on my TPLink router and its very annoying every time somebody resets the main router.

it doesn't halve the speed? i also have a xiaomi wifi extender, the white bar type one, but my internet speed is 15 Mbps, but it only does about half of that in the speed test.

maganda lang tong wifi repeater kapag sinaksak mo xa malapit sa router.. pero kung ang balak mo isaksak yung repeater sa 2nd floor, at oras nanghingi xa ng signal sa router nyo sa 1st floor.. ang ibibigay ng repeater nyong signal ay nkakabadtrip dahil sa baba ng bandwidth.. ang laki ng bawas sa Mbps.. it's sucks talaga! hindi xa pang long range na may same bandwidth.

pagkakaalam ko lahat ng wireless wifi extender/hotspot, 50% lang ng original speed ang binibigay. for example 2000kbps ang download speed mo sa wifi router nyo, 1000kbps lang ang makukuha mong download speed sa extender o hotspot. Kung gusto mo mas mabilis, Mesh WiFi or wired extender ang hanap mo.

What's up! Thank you for watching all the way from Portugal. Unfortunately this will vary since it would depend on your main router's signal. Initially set it up near the router then plug it somewhere between the main router and the WiFi weak spots. The Mi Home app will indicate how good the signal is based on where you will plug the Repeater Pro so you can adjust the location. I hope this helps. Cheers.

I've found some of these cheap devices won't connect using secure wifi protocols. (there are several options within most wifi routers, tho many people just leave their wifi routers set on 'auto' and never really know which configuration is used)
anyone able to confirm which wifi security protocol they are using with their unit?
I have a unit purchased via aliexpress, seller tells me to configure with the unit servers set to 'chinese mainland' (huge red flag - maybe seller sent out a unit not intended for use in Australia) Lesson learned : only buy unfamiliar equipment from resellers within my country.

i saw another video and the dude said this device cuts the original WiFi speed in half(like if you have a 100mbps wifi, if you connect this one, it'll cut it to 50mbps). is it true?

bought one tried it on my devices it works on the signal strength but cut my bandwidth in half. Going in the trash.
Brother, if my double story house with 2500 sq ft each floor and my unifi router is place in the side near my main door first.
After set up the unit where is the best place to plug in the mi repeater and do i need a second set for first floor.
Now i place the mi repeater on the last room on first floor but it just can function well but the indicate blue light.

Hi, a lot of factors to consider because this is on wifi. One option is to move the router to another location and see if the wifi signal improves or reset the router to see if the error clears and continue using it at the same location.

Hi. I already solved the problem. My another problem was everytime i disconnect my wifi connection to the repeater, it is not automatically reconnect on the repeater. It always require password for the repeater everytime i reconnect it.

Without a pre installation test for range/speed this video is completely pointless. Too bad, because the video was nicely filmed and edited.
What is difference regarding range coverage stability as compared to Mi Wifi Repeater 2 .
The pro is up to 120 metre radius due to its 2X2 antenna. I don't have the exact number for the USB but since it does not have external antenna the range it about 1/3 of the pro and it will easily go down with walls in between.
