Hi! What type of wood did you all use to make your bed frame?

    What about a baseboard heater??

I’m thinking about building something very similar with a queen mattress, but I’m concerned about the difficulty of changing sheets with the rails on all 4 sides. Have you had any issue with this?

Such a valid concern! I would definitely consider the weight of the mattress. I actually find ours on the heavier side. I do 1 of 2 things- I will lift one side then do the other if I’m alone. It’s still manageable. The easier way is to have my little one sit on the first corner I put on to keep it secure while I put the other corners on. I still have about an inch-2 in wiggle room to get my hand in there

My husband wants to do a floor bed from day 1 and I see some of the pros, but can’t get over my biggest worry which is what if the baby rolls off the bed, lands on his face and can’t breathe and can’t or doesn’t roll back over? I haven’t been able to find anything addressing that, except for the noodle under the mattress, which other people have said is a hazard. Is this a realistic concern?
Also if he’s at daycare and sleeping in a crib, will this be confusing for him or make daycare difficult?

I saw in another video a mom put pool noodles as bumpers on either side just under the sheet for when the child is very little so if they roll they don’t fully roll off :)

This kind of bed is not meant for babies. Is meant for toddlers. About 2 years old. NOT FOR BABIES.

Is you were to use it for a baby, make sure you have nothing on the bed! No pillows or anything, and that the rails have a gate that’s removable.
