    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your first introduction to actor Josh Hartnett was in the Showtime series, Penny Dreadful, boy do we have news for you. In the late 90s and early 2000s, he was considered a Hollywood heartthrob. He was on the cover of tons of magazines, everyone wanted him starring in their movies, and it seemed like he could do no wrong. Unfortunately, that wasn’t true, and Hartnett managed to do quite a lot wrong, including getting on the wrong side of famous director Christopher Nolan. Find out how Christian Bale ended up as Batman instead of Hartnett. We’ll also let you in on why Hartnett dropped off the face of the earth for all intents and purposes, but was really licking his wounds back in Minnesota. Are you excited for a possible return of Josh Hartnett? Do you think that he’ll ever manage to be as big as he once was? Actually what happened was Hartnet got tired of the bs in hollywood where actors are just expected to fall in line with whatever the big brands say they should do. So he left acting and went off on his own for a while only to come back later and get involved with projects that mattered to him not to the industry. Basically he pulled a Chapelle before Chapelle did it.

You guys make him sound like a loser who made the biggest mistake of his life when he really didn't. He just didn't like the situation he was in so he left. Last time I checked this is normal. Yes, there are times when we have to compromise. But I'm a big believer of following following the heart. Why do something that's not fun??? On a side note I prefer to see him in horror films. Penny Dreadful and 30 Days of Night are two of my faves from his body of work.

This video gave me more of an idea of the kind of man that director is, than the kind of man Josh is. So someone said no to a role and then you blacklist him?? WTF. Maybe the director never even did such a thing. Josh himself said that he didn't want to have to deal with too much movie-star attention. It just wasn't him. Many movie-stars have that problem. Not everyone wants to be in the spotlight all the time, no matter how good you are at acting.

I love it when brilliant actors follow their hearts and not what others think they should do . Josh is a good example of this . It's all up to the actor to take on the projects and roles that they feel is right for them.
We see so many actors who are cast in the wrong roles that it has become commonplace now. Josh is smart enough to reject such projects . Super hero films are way overated and the fact that he declined those offers shows his integrity as a great actor . There are several actors who have followed their own lead as he has done .
People should never pay much attention to all of the celebrity gossip and the paparazzi is often ruthless and shameless . If you love actors for being genuine people who don't sell out to fame and fortune then looking past their detractors becomes easier by the day .
God bless Josh and all other brilliant performers who maintain their integrity .

It is Lucky Number Slevin, Lady, not lucky number seven as you said. And it is one of my all time favorite movies. I recommend it to anyone who has not seen it. Also Penny Dreadful is incredible if you like a little horror. Top notch actors , edge of your seat and excellent story line. I hope Josh Hartnett continues to do so well, he is intensely talented.

He has been working pretty much since those early roles. Wikipedia him! He's done something at least one or two projects a year, even a series or two.

I remember him. He was a good actor. His movies were very pleasant to watch. I remember when he was at the peak of his career, he lived very modestly with his girlfriend in a regular house, not in a million dollar Hollywood house.

So Nolan is entitled for people to obey his every whim I suppose better bring out the popcorn when his rape allegations/'she didn't say no' happen.

Jesus, I remember he was huge in the late 90s, early 2000s. Making huge mistakes should definitely have changed him. Glad he’s back on his feet. Really enjoyed him in Penny Dreadful, too bad it lasted 3 seasons.
His acting isn’t at all great, it’s good but at least he has his looks.

He is an amazing actor and it is good for him to take roles that he feels challenged and fulfilled with. I love Indy films and a lot of our greatest actors do them. Ryan Gosling and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to name a couple of the greatest. Hell, look at Leonardo DiCaprio... some of his best work was in Indy films.

Yes, Josh deserves another chance, but he's reluctant to be one big star and that's good because it makes him look very down to earth.
He does not need to be recognized as a star more than a real actor. In fact he's such an amazing very real talented actor indeed.
    God bless him.

Most of his movies are so good but idk why most of them are movie bombs lol. I've watch all Josh's movie and I could say all of them are amazing; from action, horror, romance, comedy and mystery they were all well portrayed by Josh
