    Another great tip if you mess up, just snapp your fingers close to mic, you will see a huge spike on the audio line and you can find the re-take very easy. Also just repeat everything your not satisfied with on first take and then just edit out the mistakes afterwards.

      That's OK but you (or whomever is editing) might confuse that with other random noise. I use the word "rephrase" and will say something like "pick it up from the point where I say...."

    Thank you for the video. One thing I noticed lacking as you do a live record presentation is that since you have PowerPoint in full screen mode (as your screen recording) you cannot see your notes. So when you were doing this demo of the five slides, how did you access the notes that’s on your actual PowerPoint presentation? Did you have it on a second monitor? That would be helpful for the audience to know. Thank you.

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  Před 22 dny

      If you had speaker notes for your slides, then it would be helpful to have a second monitor and present in speaker mode so the notes could be on the 'non-recording' screen.
      If you only have a single monitor and need to see your notes while recording, then we'd recommend resizing the slide area in PPT so that the notes are visible, and then do a Region Capture with Camtasia and only select the slide area. This way you will only record the slides, and still see your notes below the recording area.

    Great webinar sir. Your video was very informative for me. I have learned a lot of things in just one sitting. I have one question. While exporting to youtube we had the option to create a table of contents from markers. How can we achieve this while saving the output locally?

  • @DanielFellerFinance

    Is it better to screen record or record in PPT? What option is preferred over the other for different purposes?

  • @scottabergermd

    Great presentation. I was wondering if the animations in PowerPoint can be brought in any other way, other than a live screen recording? Importing just he slides seems to lose the animations…how would you suggest combing both the animations and extra things that CAMTASIA brings?? Is there another way, besides live recording the PowerPoint presentation?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately, because importing the Powerpoint (PPT) slides brings them in as still images, you cannot get the PPT transitions anyway besides the live recording as you mentioned. You can replace the PPT transitions with a transition from Camtasia's transition tab but that will likely animate the whole slide, not individual elements (unless you recreate some of those elements in Powerpoint, such as text, or on-screen callouts (arrows, word bubbles, etc).

  • @jamotter8967
    @jamotter8967 Před rokem +1

    I realize I can record a PPT presentation from within Camtasia. That way any animations are retained. But I can also export my PPT presentation into individual graphic images (JPG, TIFF, etc.) and build my Camtasia presentation in that way. Yes, PPT animations are lost, but then I don't use any. Besides, with Camtasia I can add transitions and overlay other graphics. Are there any reasons not to use the latter approach? What do I gain by doing a screen recording within PowerPoint?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  Před rokem +1

      The two options as you already mentioned are really the difference between "performing" your presentation live, or giving it that additional finesse in post-production. You can record yourself going through it in real-time, or record your narration separately, and then animate your presentation in after the fact, but bringing in the slides and adding transitions.
      It's really up to personal preference at that point. Some people prefer one-and-done recordings (live) and others prefer the ability to perfect it in the edit.

    Not able to screen record cursor movement when working on Microsoft OneNote App. While I screen record using PowerPoint the cursor movement is shown in Camtasia recording.
