    Richter's Mozart has purity, simplicity, and clarity. His music is great.

    Grandissimo Slava, inarrivabile,unico.......sentiamo la tua mancanza in questo squallido mondo dominato solo dal denaro.

      Що можна додати, коли все сказано: і grandissimo і плохіссімо. Для мене Slava - геній. Неперевершений. Я зразу відрізняла його гру по радіо (коли радіо включала класику в свої програми, зараз нема і близько цого). Він для мене Геній..

    I remember now why Richter was my absolute idol for 30 years, years' ago. This very different Mozart concert was quite wonderful, thank you. I'd not heard any of them before, so they were a rare treat. Was Richter, by any chance filling in for another pianist here (he rarely used a score}?.The second movement of the third concerto was totally operatic in sytle and so magnificent.

    Just so it's clear, even Mozart didn't consider these works truly his - they were studies in orchestration and developing of an understanding of concerto as a form. The music was largely taken from violin sonatas by Hermann Raupach (1728-78) and Leontzi Honauer (1737-90). He met and worked with the former while in Paris and he became a family friend.

    no cell phone ringing in audience or applause in between movements like today.

      @excelsior999 Před rokem +1

      In my experience, that sort of thing (the ringing cellphones,etc.) happens principally in the West.
      Normally I try to avoid stating the obvious, but its hard to disagree with the widespread opinion that for the past several decades the people of East Asia (Japan, China and Korea) have been a very big influence in keeping Western classical music alive and well. The rest of us just do whatever we can to prevent the term "Western Culture" from becoming an oxymoron.

      "И как же его играть, Моцарта?--Нет ответа",-- говорил Сам в "Энигме"! Далековато для С.Рихтера была уже Япония-- выглядит он здесь устало--недовольным, но звучит прекрасно!!!❤❤❤❤❤

    Ugh, ponderous, little dynamics, boorish articulation, technically subpar - this was already dated 30 years ago. Richter never got Mozart.
