Small Rustic Christmas Junk Journals

- A set of three small Rustic Christmas junk journals to be listed in my Etsy shop. These are created with a semi-soft cover from a recycled cereal box and covered in a pretty Christmas themed There is one hand sewn signature with a variety of mixed papers, most are hand dyed with coffee and distress inks to create the mood of a rustic farmhouse Christmas. Themed designer paper also helps create the mood. Each journal is decorated with the same 7 pockets and tucks and these are similarly stuffed with 9 pieces of ephemera for journaling, including handmade tags.
The journals were lovingly created as a place to plan for the holiday, to write and wish, to keep notes or remember Christmases past. I had a vision of snow on the ground, the scent of pine and gingerbread and the soft glow of candles framed in the window. I hope you can feel this mood.

Kathleen: these journals are charming. I love sheep. A very nice job. Carol from California
Thanks Carol - I love the vintage mood at Christmas.
very beautiful
Thanks so much Natasha!
I love these and I love sheep my uncles had a church group come out to their farm to film one Christmas with the sheep. Absolutely lovely journals
It was the sheep that attracted me too. We once had a family ask to come use the shed (with the sheep) on Christmas Eve for their family devotional. It was sweet.
Love these! I’m inspired. 🎄 Thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad to hear it Joyce! Thanks for watching.
Beautiful!

Thank you Gina! Christmas is so fun isn’t it! Are you making journals for Christmas?
@@BeAgainBooks yes, I have.
Very sweet love this so much Kathleen❤ the fabric cover is my favorite and I also love the flip up pocket, that’s a great idea! Layered pocket tag is so cute too! Sending LUVnHUGZ to you, Rita Donnelly
Thanks so much Rita!

Sweet Christmas journals! So well done!❤😊
Thanks so much! ☺️
I know this is a few months ago, but these are adorable and i loved the Christmas theme😊❤
Thank you Carey! I appreciate the compliment regardless of how much time passes.
So pretty! You’ve shown how sweet little touches go a long way in a journal. Just love your layered pocket tag!🙂
Thanks so much Darice!
Thank you, Kathleen. They’re delightful. Such an easy size to handle. I love the cover paper, too. I hope you had a Happy Halloween and didn’t overindulge on the candies. 😘💞
Thank you Keryn! It’s a really great size, bigger than small, but not too big, haha. We didn’t even mark Halloween this year! No candies, haha. We are too isolated for Trick or Treat so no one comes to visit and I didn’t do any Halloween journaling. It used to be a favorite holiday, but now that the kids are gone…
Full of charm! You’re getting me excited for the holidays.
Thanks so much Dawn! I hope you’re excited!
I’m so glad - thanks Dawn!

Thank you Corky!
Can't wait to see what you make this year! Love how much space is in there to include cards and other memories :)
Christmas is always a fun theme for journals! I’m glad you like these.
These are so sweet! They are making me excited to make Christmas journals!
Thank you Jennifer! I may be pushing things a bit, haha.
Love them, very inspired to go make my first Christmas journal. Thanks

Thanks very much Suzanne - that makes me happy.
Sweet little journals Kathleen!
Thanks so much Nancy!
💖
Thank you Gina!
Super cute journals! Loved all the little charms and flowers sprinkled along.. Have you used any themed printables for the cover and the pages in between? They are gorgeous! Thanks! 😊❤
Thank you Anagha! I did not use any digitals in these journals, just scrapbook paper, stickers, stamping, paper napkins and a greeting card.
I love these! Looking for ideas for this Christmas. Did you cover the cereal boxes with scrapbook paper or fabric?
Thank you Nancy! I used fabric on the covers - I used the iron on Heat&Bond for this project because the fabric is a thin (quilting type) cotton. That was the glue is splotchy through the fabric.
Ooooh very pretty Kathleen! Oh, where do you find your really cool distressed tape. It looks really cool in other journals!
Thanks so much Lucy! That swirly tape was a gift from a friend. Sadly, I don’t know where it came from originally.
@@BeAgainBooks ok Kathleen. No worries. I didn’t know what it was called.
@@BeAgainBooks I just saw a video on distressing scotch tape! But you probably already know this. She used Alcohol Ink Caramel color.
I'm a bit confused Lucy, CZcams showed me your question and I thought we were on a different video. The tape in these books is from a Christmas plaid set from Hobby Lobby. I have also done that alcohol ink technique to make vintage transparent tape - it works like a charm! You'll love using it! Thanks so much for watching, Lucy, I appreciate your support.
@@BeAgainBooks ok cool thx Kathleen! Yes I was referring to the antique-like distressed looking scotch tape. I’ll try the ink. By the way I love my country journal!!!
I love the covers! (I randomly love sheep, haha.) Can you please tell me the name of the paper or fabric you used with the barn and sheep? Thank you ❤🐑😁
They are so sweet aren’t they? I don’t know who manufactures the fabric, but the designer is Susan Wingate. If you google Psalm 23 winter sheep fabric, it will come up at a couple of places.
@@BeAgainBooks Thanks!
Do you have any advice on shipping costs for Etsy? I have been using media mail - slow but cheap????
Thanks so much for watching Marvy and for the question. All the costs associated with selling, especially on Etsy, are difficult. I know each seller has different circumstances and pressures. My humble advice is to factor all these fees and costs, including shipping, into your selling price. I like using Etsy’s shipping because I can easily track the package from Etsy and I can also buy extra insurance for my irreplaceable journals. I think you might be taking a bit of a chance on media mail. Unless you can replace what you send easily.
Thank you so much for replying- I appreciate the info
Very pretty!
Thank you Kathy! 😊
