The End of Evangelion - Expansion of Blockade - Sefa Emre İlikli & KenBan

- Expansion of Blockade is a beautiful, enchanting and difficult piece for violin from "The End of Evangelion" and it has been in my list for years but I hadn't found the right person to play it with. 🎻 (There are no complete covers of it on CZcams either.) However, in May, I came across @KenBanMusic's CZcams channel and listened to all of his wonderful covers (one of them being his own Expansion of Blockade piano solo) and I was filled with so much inspiration that I immediately asked him to play it together. Thankfully he agreed and we had been working on it ever since. I believe this recording turned out very beautiful and I'd like to congratulate my friend KenBan for his sensitive musicianship and attention to detail. It's interesting how music brings people together and removes the so called barriers between us. KenBan is from Japan and I'm from Turkey, but we both love Evangelion and we both wanted to play its music, so there was no reservations between us, only friendship and support for each other. I feel extremely lucky to be able to make music and connect with other souls all around the world so profoundly and sincerely. 🪄🌈🎵

My God, how wonderful! This music, this anime is closely related to the difficult beginning of 2022 for me... I am listening to you from Ukraine. And you won’t believe it, but since childhood I had a dream to learn how to play the violin, somehow I told my girlfriend about it, she has over 8 years of piano experience and we ourselves have known each other for 4 years and have never met in real life ha-ha...
As a result, from now on, I promised that when the war is over, I will learn to play the violin, we will meet and play "Expansion of Blockade ..."
I have been looking for a similar accompaniment for a very long time, and now I found it... Thank you very much, thank you for this masterpiece, which came out just at the moment when my faith in this adventure began to fade... This is beautiful music, thanks for the hope, now without a doubt I will try to live up to this moment. :)

To be honest, my sweet adventure in the world of hopeful and happy music ended pretty much a couple months from the time I wrote this post.
I found out about the cheating. We broke up and haven't spoken since then, as it turns out I wasn't "good enough" and she just found a replacement, ha ha... The silliest part is that I found out on my birthday on April 11th, 2023. On top of that I broke up with my childhood friend, it turns out he sees me as a "broken" toy because I'm sick. (Biochemically, I have problems with my emotions, they often resemble the reactions of a plant.)
Anyway, I was left alone, and I was never able to meet a person who would really accept me. It was a difficult time for me.
I feel endless fatigue and burnout from betrayal, loneliness, war, and other things that would take a long time to tell.
I still love the music, but I don't believe I will ever be able to pick up an instrument.
Now I'm studying to be a CPPdoctor/combat medic and gradually trying to work on the frontline, it makes me feel better. I see deep hope in the eyes of people that are frustrated with everything they try to breathe or endure pain, their healing is my goal. And I will be happy if more fathers return to their families alive and unharmed. Not everyone is like me) many have more to lose. And I'd like to do my best to make them happy.
At times I try to socialize with someone, but it doesn't come to any kind of friendship as I have a tendency to be annoying.
It is sad to hope that something will change, and it seems that you meet a person who in theory could become close to you, but.... Turns out he/she is not interested.
In brief: Now I am immersed only in work and care for my brothers in arms) At home I have an incredible cat that lives with me half of my life, and I only need to realize that my loved ones are all right.
"Romance is worth looking for in everything, but love everywhere is not."
So yeah, praise the sun, brothers.
Move on, this life is beautiful and we all leave a mark on this story, however small and insignificant compared to the scale of the universe :)

Reminds me specifically of some of your Sailor Moon covers, perhaps it's the key signature or tone. I'm not familiar with this piece, but I've only seen the original Evangelion series once through including the movies... beautiful selection for the both of you. ^.^
