January in Review: Meeting with Jesi Scholars, Tech Hub Award, Y-Radio Show, and Movie Night!

Welcome to Node Eight's Monthly Video Highlights for January! Join us as we take you on a journey through the exciting activities that unfolded during this action-packed month.
First up, we kicked off January with the Jesi Town Hall Meeting, setting the stage for an incredible year ahead. The Jesi Young and Safe Scholars, who are part of the 12-month career program, shared their expectations for the new year and discussed upcoming modules and activities in software engineering, digital marketing, and product design.
Next, the Young and Safe consortium team met with the Ho Municipal Assembly to discuss the progress of the Young and Safe Project. We focused on the timely completion of the Youth Park and addressed funding requests. The meeting strengthened collaboration and set a clear direction for our project's success.
Our team also held the first meeting of the Young and Safe Project for 2024. We discussed achievements from the previous year, Quarter Four activities, and upcoming events like the Mid-term Internal Learning Exercise (MILE). The team received commendation for their hard work and addressed challenges, remaining dedicated to our long-term vision.
In a proud moment, Node Eight received the prestigious Tech Hub Award at the MTN Platform Accelerator. We surpassed competitors across Ghana and were honoured with a prize package that included GH₵50,000 and a partnership with MTN Ayoba. Additionally, we supported startups Wasteman Gh and Aduane Fie Marketplace, with Wasteman Ghana winning the Expert's Choice category for their outstanding waste management solutions.
Our Y-Radio Show successfully engaged, informed, and empowered young people in Ho throughout Season One. We covered important topics such as health, governance, environment, education, and career guidance. The show made a significant impact and is eagerly anticipated for Season Two.
Lastly, our January edition of the Last Friday Hangout was an absolute hit! The Movie Night featuring #TheBlackBook was a blockbuster success, creating unforgettable memories for everyone in attendance. Laughter and cheers filled Node Eight as friends enjoyed each other's company, leaving us all eagerly anticipating the next edition in February.
