    I think this might have been the best honest review I have ever seen, I love how you "forgot" you were a professional teacher and did everything exactly how they asked - even if having a constructive suggestion! I have not tried Flowkey yet, and now seriously considering it after watching your video (as well as your great resources on your website!)

    Hey . I tried flowkey first when I got my first keyboard . I didn’t understand the notes and what fingers to play them with . I was so confused and got stuck .
    Simply piano adds this to playing.
    I think I will learn from simply piano an then go to flowkey after some time .
    Thought I add this for other people to read .
    Thankyou for your review lovely 🙂

      I've just started playing with flowkey as well, it does put the number to play the keys above the notes at least for the pieces I've played so far.

    I’m a piano teacher. My son now uses simply piano along with many other resources to learn piano. It obviously has its flaws, (it fosters poor technique from the get go), but it’s really fun. And music should be fun.

    Bravo great review- there is no substitute for a good teacher.
    I have zero experience with simply piano and started with flowkey. Simply pianos feels like something for a kid whereas flowkey is more for the older teens and up. I chose flowkey over simply piano because of it and didn’t need a backing track. Also in my pursuit of self study I picked up the Faber books. Picking up some music theory - I’m just learning to learn and flowkey and apps like this have given many people access to lessons that otherwise may not be attainable in a fairly inexpensive option to try. It’s like how digital photography has given rise to more amateur photographers without having to continuously purchase film and knowing results only after you’ve developed them.

      Hello 😊👋 Happy New Year to you as well!! I’m glad we’re on the same page, Simply Piano does seem a little on the oversimplified side. Faber books are great, have you tried Barbara Wharram’s Elementary Rudiments of Music book? It gets quite advanced and drills all the basics 💪

    Very interesting analysis about players like ME! LOL, I don’t have time to learn piano properly with a teacher because of my health, but I’m very interested in (re)starting with a tool like Flowkey. I did have three years of lessons as a grade schooler, but they are not the fondest of memories. 😂

    I think that the biggest strength of flowkey is its very good selection of classical music that does not have simplified score. The selection of some standards (even some used in jazz) is not bad either. Thank you.

  • @johndoe-yw7eb
    @johndoe-yw7eb Před 8 měsíci +11

    How come when you did the simply piano review, you went out of your way to try to "break" every lesson (singing the notes, adding notes, ignoring rhythm) and were perpetually annoyed that the app didn't pick up on any of this, but here, you're approaching each lesson the way any actual student would, and you seem to like it? It's impossible to assess your comparison of the two apps when your approach to one of them was so disengaged and antagonistic.

    • @TheGreasemonkey220
      @TheGreasemonkey220 Před měsícem +1

      I must say I do agree. I have used both apps. And began piano lessons in high-school. Recently i have began to play again and turned to apps. I began with flowkey, and it became strictly annoying to me. It just kept force feeding terrible children's tunes and even would not pick up my notes at times. As for simply piano, so far I have prefered the experience. I also have not noticed any of her complaints on simply piano. Even the app looks completely different and acts different from what was shown in her video. If you hit incorrect notes, it shows as wrong and will make you restart your lesson. I'm not sure what the difference is or if maybe it was a fake form of simply piano she had.

    • @TheGreasemonkey220
      @TheGreasemonkey220 Před měsícem +1

      @johndoe-yw7eb That may be, or hers could be an older version. Because I haven't had the issues of the notes not reading correctly, or being able to sing the notes. I actually tried it after seeing this video, just to see.

    Hello Miss Maria,
    I have not commented on your videos in a while(although I have been watching). I know that you are probably busy but I was wondering if you could do a little video review of the following hybrid digital pianos if you are near a piano store: Kawai NV10, Casio Gp510 and the Yamaha N1 & N2 in order of your most favorite to least. I am hoping to buy one of these in the next few months (I have completed my challenge of not upgrading to a new piano until I had learnt 10 pieces( I have learnt 11 lol). I learnt them on a old Yamaha clavinova clp311.
    I hope you had a pleasant Christmas and will have a happy New year.
