From a disc pov its a huge win, basically the current tier set amped up and leaning realy into certain aspects of the class fantasy. Please do a review on that too cause I’m very curious how it feels cause this talent tree gives them so much offensive power on paper it looks absolutely nuts

Blizz needs to add a cosmic void skin for the class like green fire for warlocks.

Bruh, fire mages are asking for blue fire since Legion. Chances we get a reskin for SPriest are very low.

This looks so fun, it fits in the spriest theme of ramping up damage and all of the interactions seem so cool, I like the fact it has nodes that synergise with different build paths too, im optimistic about it!
I saw the first Talent icon and deadass thought they were bringing back Searing Nightmare... almost got a meltdown xD

I don’t mind them taking mind sear but shadow crash is just silly, if the tank moves the mobs you are fked big time. A new way of dotting faster would be nice.

I have been waiting for yout to make a video about this. Yay. I do hope they improve some of the visuals. The rift looks pretty rubbish at the moment, considering we have so many awesome void spell visual effects to draw upon. The question is, will we finally get to have our PW: Shield and levitate use a shadowy animation.
Void blast animation looks sick
Even after all the reworks void torrent is still a super cool ability so happy to see Blizz add some fun stuff to it with one of the hero talent trees.
Do you think anything you've seen either here, in the Voidweaver talents, or in general War Within content, will help spriest feel less sluggish or one-note in terms of movement and utility, or will we still be a snail class? I like that this set of hero talents seems to offer some amount of AoE which, in my mind, alleviates some of the pain of relying on SC, but I'd really love to have even a fraction of the movement other classes seem to have baked in.
I think the No Escape and Dark Energy Choice Node will certainly help a bit, although I would always love more
Rift looks awesome, like a little blackhole. :D
Just wished they'd update our Shields, they still look the same since vanilla while Paladins got theirs updated using shaders and mages had it graphically updated. :|

Another question I have for Voidweaver. For Void Eruption, do we cast that before Void Torrent? Or is VE something we’d go into after Entropic Rift?

Another thing, with this does our spell priority change with Void Torrent over Mind Blast since it upgrades it? Or are Void Blast charges filled on activation?
Will likely alter when we void torrent yes, blast is not recharged after void torrent cast.

How will it feel using Void Eruption/PI/Pot, do you pop CDs before just sitting in Void Torrent, or will you take 2 seconds of your Entropic Rift using GCDs to pop cooldowns? Seems clunky either way, but I have been out of the game for a bit, I could be way off.

TLDR you go something like Vampiric Touch > Shadowfiend > Mind Blast x2 > Void Eruption > Potion + Power Infusion + On-use trinkets > Devouring Plague (if you started with enough insanity from Divine Star/Halo/etc) > Void Bolt > Mind Blast twice > Void Torrent

This looks great so far. I only hope they add a charge to Shadow Crash or uncap it going into TWW. Something to still help us spread our DoTs. This seems to ease the Psychic Link priority for AoE damage a little, but with Shadowy Apparitions and the Insanity generation we should still get a change to Shadow Crash.
We'll see, this tree in particular adds more AoE damage to our kit that isnt directly tied to our DoTs, maybe its okay?
Seems fun, but a bit weird that the vfx of the "rift" wasn't tore open right at where the enemy stands but sent out by the priest and "flew" to the location. So, you may have to wait for its arrival.
Also, new vfx for Void Torrent is cool, but feels a bit too dark. Void Blast vfx is cool as well. I thought it was another channeling spell when I watched the play style video. I misunderstood. 😂
Melee players will hate us, this is going to hide enemy aoe ground affects.

Instead they just reused the laziest animation they could find.
I see a lot of pvpers on the forums talking about how the slow etc wont do anything due to the massive amount of gap closers and mobility from the other classes, and i cant help but agree with them at this point. Not to mention the ability to lock down a priest with the long cast of void torrent. It begs the question, does entropic rift still materialize if you only get half a cast off before youre are kicked,stunned, etc? Or are you just dead in the water at that point. A lot of potential flaws in there.

I wonder what the range on Void Leech is. It says "nearby" which makes me think ~12 yd. If that's the case, Embrace the Shadow will be far superior in dungeons at least. It probably will be anyway, but in raids it will be much easier to be near someone to leech from.
Other than that, this looks like a very positive start for Shadow hero talents! Especially Dark Energy. For some unknown reason, i'm expecting that to be nerfed to the ground before release :(

If you take voidwraith is there any point in taking mindbender at all? Would the dps go up or is it basically a refunded talent point?
Right now its a totally redundant talent point, even though Inescapable Torment _does_ work. So not sure if thats a bug or not.
Wait, this tree is shared with disc? Do the talents morph for disc or are they making void torrent baseline for disc? Or am I missing something
Yes some of the spells are different for disc. They start with blast and extend with smite

It is but they change some of the spells to do things slightly differently for Disc.
i just realized they changed it from mind blast to void torrent.

I hate that shadow/void is becoming glitter and stardust. I wish the effects were kept shadowy and less cosmic.

A lot of it is where they change the spell that triggers it. So instead of void torrent it’s mind blast, and instead of devouring plague hits it’s penance ticks

That is the Discipline Priest version, for Shadow it is Void Torrent.

I dont understand the talent tree. Now we have 3(!!!) talent trees… for what we need more talents 🤷♂️
Basically you have your normal class/spec trees still. And then in addition to that as a Shadow Priest you choose either Archon (not out yet) or Voidweaver for an additional set of talents. Most of them are fixed and not choices.

I find this style of having three talent trees very confusing.😐
To each their own, but imho void blast looks like shlt...they have made a bunch of cool cosmic void animations for a bunch of mobs and even that plunderstorm skill had an amazing expanding void animation...but when it come to player skills the best they can come up with is "two dark purple lines"? Really? Has the bar been set so low?
These "void" skills look just like any other shadow priest skill.

I am dissapointed with the animations for years now... especially for priests. I was also super excited when they announced the ultimate penance skill (or whatever it is called). And then it was just some recycled animation again. Also, priest STILL has a lot of spell effects that are the same since WoW came out. Like what? Smite, Holy Fire, PW:S, the stamina buff... there is so much stuff they need to update imo. Even the "new" spells should get an update. But I guess most players dont care about this.

It wouldn't even be much work updating some skills, considering how many of them already have updated versions being used by mobs.
We are coming from an expansion full of cool cosmic void skills and going into one with a relevant npc that will likely have some amazing void vfx...
But nope, the best we can do is reuse mind flay and call it "cosmic blast" somebody kll me pls.
