Sweet!
You can get green mangoes in vegas. just go to an asian grocery. Like 99 ranch
great job I used to eat this in swap meet and it’s so good👌 you can also eat the seed by itself for anyone in the comments that didn’t know!
If you are in vegas go to Fremont and there’s a beef jerky store there that carries a lot of Hawaiian stuff
I don’t know about other cities, but here in Las Vegas, Walmart Markets sell slices of Mexican mango year round; which can be used for pickled mango…not totally green, but works for me…
That's all I use because that's all we have. Sometimes they have the huge ones that are solid. They're solid and crisp.
Growing up in Hawaii we NEVER bought mangos as well as bananas, lychee, papayas etc. Now in the mainland I was surprised how difficult it was to get ANY fruit from the USA! I was clueless. Anyway, I'm glad you are showing how to make onolicious food with what you can find in Vegas, although I'm in NE Tenn and it's harder to get anything Asian, so anytime I'm near an Asian store I stock up! lol - Keep up the great work, so glad I found your channel!
Thanks so much. I went to school in Kansas and those days there was no Asian store, so no wong bok for kimchee, had to use head cabbage. You could only buy long grain rice, La Choy soy sauce, canned bean sprouts and French fried noodles. Stayed in the dorm one semester because I couldn't stand the haole food.
@@HawaiisPickleLady I do get tired of bread or potatoes so I make sure to stock up on rice and now I'm growing or trying to grow more of my own greens. I think Hawaii was more self sustaining then most of the cities in the mainland.
👍👍👍👍
You can order powder from Lins market, Hawaii. Good powder. Still waiting for my seed order. Have plenty snow up here in Texas. Mahalo
Good to know! Too bad you're not in Vegas, it's available in Chinatown and any grocery or Longs in Hawaii.
When I was a young boy living on Oahu I use to see da big jars of lemons of sour goodness. My sister used to bring me back some long time ago but can't find. Do u know how to make and if u can please the world this delicious treat
How long do I have to wait before I can eat it? What if I want more of the liquid? Will this recipe give me more of the juice (liquid)?
What is leee hee moi powder?
Li hing mui is a Chinese preserved plum that comes in many forms: sweet, salty, sweet sour, wet, dry, and is flavored with sugar, salt, licorice and sometimes color.
It is unlike the Mexican seeds which are just salty. You can only find them in Chinatown but all grocery stores in Hawaii sell it. The powder is from the ground up plums and is used to flavor pineapple and other fruits. Also gummy bears, chex mix and even meats.
Hi, can it be kept out of the fridge, also how long can it last
No, will get soggy and get spoiled. Remember, I'm in Vegas so can't get green mangoes. Lasts maybe a couple of weeks or more, depends on how green it is. Use your judgment.
What kind of Ling Hing powder do you use and consider good powder.
I just use any but I understand you can buy some from Whole Foods without all the chemicals and artificial stuff.
Thank you soo much for sharing you're Easy Delicious Recipe. I've always wanted to try and make it, Never did.
