      FYI, I had a melted 8 pin connector on a 2070S system I have built for a colleague. Connector was part of a extension cable which connected to a HX1000i PSU.
      Only reason it was noticed was due to occasional crashes or boot error related to GPU power.

      From what I can remember , Nvidia's Ti naming started in GeForce 3 series with the Ti200 and Ti500 variants around 20+ years ago. Ti200 was the lower end version of the original GeForce 3. Not the highest end cards, maybe you're too young to know about this.

The company would be saving money on labor cost and shipping by adding more units for the same cost in weight, dimensions, and storage.

A lot of it is just trying cases to see if I like it or I have changed something in my space and now there is a better option for what I am doing. The mainstream case users can barely use the right screws to mount the stuff in the case. Shipping a incomplete case to then have someone at the outer end of the seas mount and repackage the case? The crew and place for this to take place probably cost more then shipping a pre packaged most likely more sturdy designed case. It probably is that simple. And Quality control is also a important thing to remember. It is bad enough as it is already.
      But if In Win can send stuff flat packaged directly to the costumer and the costumer pay less on top? That is the dream scenario. As long as you do not need a Phd in Ikea assembly to assemble the flat packed case! I have yet gotten something complex Ikea furtherance to assemble, but I'm sure there are some stuff from Ikea that can make a grown man/woman question life. And if the act of self assembly impacts robustness of the design? That is bad.

      I’m fortunate enough to have two 4090’s and a 4080, a mix of Cablemod and ATX 3.0 psu connectors and in all builds the cables are kinked up against the side glass panel but fully seated.. have had some really extensive gaming sessions and have not had an issue…

    • @TheDiner50
      @TheDiner50 Před rokem +5

      Really the 'user error' no matter if it was cable mod or not is just a bad connector design that is not fit for purpose. Dumping the responsibility on the user to make sure the fire hazard is avoided due to the connector working half connected. USB 3.0 header or whatever really bad designed connector is just going to brake or not come out agen. But 600W power cable being able to not be seated right and that is 'user error'. User error should be smashing a connector where it should not go. Or dropping a CPU or GPU on the floor. Or not reading instructions/ not checking screws really carefully and picking HDD screws instead of the mobo screws. No labels and a low resolution black and white image on carboard messing up what screws you use to mount the mobo into a case?? Yea user error but at some point wtf we are paying allot of money to not run into really stupid shit that manufactures should stop 'users' from doing a 'error'. And this stupid connector that literally melt if trying to cable manage your case? That is not on the user but the prick that made this connector that is a fire hazard. My USB3.0 cable and mobo 24 pin is BENT like crazy doing a 180 deg turn. This is nothing new for GPU power cables or for literally any cable in a DIY computer build. Or a pre build desktop for that matter.
      I got a PSU with 4x SATA power splitter cables. And knowing this suckers are quite reliable I used a single SATA power cable to power all 3 of my SSD's mounted at the back of the Torrent Compact. The squeeze and bending on the SATA cable was a crime scene to get all 3 SSD's hooked up on a single splitter. The back of the Torrent Compact is no joke! But the SATA cables (a old standard) are bent up a bit and is going to fail doing that maneuver 20-50 times. And I got 2 SATA splitters in reserve. And really the plugs and cables where cheap feeling but dam they take some abuse and just deals with it. Even now the case is literally designed so badly that it is putting unreasonable stress on the bent to crap splitter.
      But look at this NV/Intel GPU power connector wrong or DARE to have a side panel to close? Your asking for a fire hazard! That is not user error that is BUYER ERROR. Why accept this nonsense of a connector. It is not like Nividia like you to save money buying a NV laptop price hiking the 4000 series laptop GPU's to the moon. And the desktop GPU's with this connector problem are ALL overpriced garbage fire hazards. This is not user error this is just recall bad design. Just like AMD and there 7800xttxxx should be all recalled on drivers alone.

    If InWin supports the modular flatpack case for a reasonable length of time at reasonable prices it could be a real help for people who hold on to cases for a long time. I've gotten rid of cases in the past because they lacked things like front panel USB, or the front panel connectors had failed and I couldn't be bothered to replace them, or the case had 5 1/4" bays I no longer had any use for. If I could have just swapped modules for something I did need that would have been very nice.

    12VHPWR cable definitely need to be less prone to user error. Got a 4090 and was paranoid as hell making sure the cable was plugged in correctly

    We already have a 4060 Ti, it's just called the 4070 Ti and costs $800

      No it isn't. You're just delusional. The 4070Ti is on par with the flagship from previous gen, that's not something a 60 class GPU has ever achieved.

      @@EarthIsFlat456 Based on die size and memory bus width, which usually stay pretty constant between generations, it's equivalent to a 60 or 60 Ti class card. Based on relative performance it's probably more like a 70, but that varies more year to year. Keep in mind that the 3070 had an MSRP of $500, and it wasn't that long ago that top-of-the-line cards were $600.

    Detonator would be a cool call back to the Riva TNT chips from forever ago. Not sure many would use it with that name though.

    the black n blue case looks pretty good! I kinda like the idea of a flat pack small packaged case tbh!
