Class looking motor!Still looking fresh and a caravanner's dream car in diesel.
The bright neon trim/piping is not for me...a bit immature and cheapens the interior...but to each their own
Great review Nobby! Also glad you see also that especially for SUVs in general that diesel still makes sense if of course like me you're doing the miles and from a point of view of the right match of engine with vehicle. I have to say I like this car and what I find especially appealing is the bright all be it Halfords-esque colours insidecas I think it looks both funky and I think it really lifts the interior. Bottom line is yes! Nice one.
like diesels....................please keep on irish market.....................
Great review. Cheers
Have a CX5 diesel, have to say it’s a great car and very well put together. MPG is very good also. It’s a pleasure to drive and very comfortable too. Looking forward to seeing your review Nobby of the CX60 phev will it be coming any time soon.
Was meant to be on the international launch but I couldn’t make it
While I don't like "SUVs", seeing you review a Mazda anything makes me think, if you haven't done so already, you should get onto Mazda Ireland about test driving the recently updated MX-5!
As I'm sure you're aware, the fourth gen MX-5 launched with a nice light free revving 130hp 1.5L engine which was always well received and is still available...
However for those looking for more power, the initial 160ho 2.0L alternative, wasn't particularly well received, said to not rev very nicely, will not having enough extra horsepower to really overcome the extra weight it brought to the car, barely being quicker than the 1.5L in everyday driving...
While the 2.0L was eventually upgraded to a nicer freer revving 184hp offering, it really wasn't available in Ireland until now (outside of the literally ten 30th anniversary edition models released here!)
Mazda sold the old 2.0L until presumably they ran out of stock of them, then you couldn't buy a regular MX-5 here with a 2.0L engine...
I check the specs of the various Mazdas available here pretty regularly (focusing on the MX-5 and the 6) and I last checked the specs of the MX-5 a month or three ago, not seeing any 2.0L engines available for it, however looking this week I saw that we can FINALLY get the new 2.0L engine in it!
(Not that it's particularly cheap, though it's still the cheapest new sports car we can buy new here 😯😀🤘.)
Anyway, please get it on the channel, in both convertible and retractable hard top if possible, as soon as possible please! 😀🤘
I could do without the bright green trim on the interior.
It’s bright alright
Is that Zircon Sand colour? Amazing
That's correct!
Nice car, this or Kia Sportage?
Mazda is a step above..makes us more happy to drive
Interesting colour but I lean closer to the 'meh' side. I have an older CX-5 and it's not bad (GS trim) but underpowered by ~30~40 hp. The Turbo is nice but at that price, more intriguing options. With gas prices where they are, likely trading it in for a Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid or PHEV. Not ready to make the jump to EV quite yet...waiting for the charging infrastructure to mature..
Stylish and SUV in the same sentence 🤣🤣🤣
Triggered 😎
The car is lovely, but those green things inside and out and completely unnecessary and pointless, and do nothing but cheapen the car and take from the premium feel. As for the name, newground, its like some imported japanese model name where the word doesnt translate well :)
Mazda diesel…beware !
