It can win you rounds that you shouldn't win. A vet in our dance knows that one category means less than the whole story. Some young/inexperienced cats and/or cats with an eye susceptible to superficial means aren't in a place to see the whole story for what it is.

Zoot got a complete own made up aesthetic and transitions in his movement, no disrespect but MJ is absolutely no competition for him. You guys say zoot is not dancing or hitting the beat, you clearly can't count or don't know what dancing to the beat means. Look at MJ starting off with his swipes, not one single swipe was on beat. Look at Zoot's movement, every single detail is on beat, even when he is popping an airflare in between, which is extremely hard to time right. MJ hit a few 16 counts, where the DJ scratches back into the loop, what is usually called a "beatkill" - that doesn't mean he is dancing to the beat in his whole set, thats something a lot of BBOYs just dont know, half of his footwork steps was completely offbeat. I think the reason why Zoot lost is, because at the end of the second set he was on a bit low energy, because if this was fair play, he wouldnt need to bring much more of his arsenal to win this. But these competitions are biased, they don't want to have a predator like Zoot compete in the main competition, because they know he is dangerous to wipe the whole event. You can say whatever you want, what i'm saying is the truth. For me it is just unfair to see a young gun work so hard to compete in these more western competitions and just get voted out because judging is biased, these type of talents deserve to be seen more. AS i said no disrespect to MJ, he is absolutely sick, but Zoot was just miles better, and your analysis is straight up wrong. Peace
