      You should rethink it for a variety of reasons.

    4th generation Colorado native here; a life long fisherman and hunter. I've been watching this happen over the last 12+ years...particularly since Polis took office and the massive influx of "woke" leftists. We are fighting an undeclared war here. This anti-hunting/fishing battle is just one of the fronts. Everything that Mr. Gates stated is true.
    If you think it can't happen in your home state, you best take heed!

    excellent conversation!! we even have issues here in the hunt friendly state of Texas... on one hand we are told that the state owns the deer (in the interest of the people of Texas)... and that's ok... the issue is that Texas has allowed some breeders to hold deer captive, and breed them/ raise them on operations to make a profit, as they sell deer to large ranches... we have lots of work to do here...

    • @Brycenwhorton
      @Brycenwhorton Před měsícem +1

      Yes!! Way too many deer breeding ranches here!

      The biggest issue with Texas hunting is that there is very little public land available. It has almost become a rich person's hobby since you either have to own land, lease, or pay outright for hunting trips which isn't cheap by any means.

    He nailed it on the head, people vote with their hearts and not their head, man/woman is part of the ecosystem and if taken out of the equation wildlife will suffer, I wish they would let DOW do their job and at least be able to be part of the conversation,t hey are the experts

    The north American model of conservation isn't conservation, it's commodification. If you own a piece of land, you're free to do as you wish(to an extent) everyone else, buy tags, lease a property, guided hunts, out of state fees. Just tacking a price onto all of us that didn't inherit a farm. Of course numbers came back, they have to have something to sell.

  • @jonathanbennison9220
    @jonathanbennison9220 Před měsícem

    Are they closing hunting in states? Or closing species tags, such as Cougar?

    • @DaMoose13
      @DaMoose13 Před měsícem

      Currently, they are trying to ban Mtn lion hunting. However, our governor, Polis, has stated his distaste for the North American Conservation Model. He has said he would like to see Colorado be a state sized Yellowstone (no hunting and using only predators for management).

      @@DaMoose13 ah.
      Didn't Yellowstone lose its entire wolf population, some time back, due to the open bounty on 'the pests'...
      Which led to the inevitable suffering of deer and other prey populations...
      Y til the wolves were repopulated with our Canadian wolves?

    I'm really sorry to say this as a hunter, gun enthusiast, and republican but WTF! Oh, BTW I' am a Texan and I've lived in Colorado for a decade... Anyone crazy enough to have that shitty of a beard doesn't have the credibility to have an opinion on any scientific/biologic conversation. "If they've been asked that question, they've been told they have no position..." Go on to speak as an authority of the facts "they" aren't allowed to speak to while acting as an authority without stating a single fact!
