The mandolin ensemble "Trubadurii" was formed in 1993. Initially, it comprised musicians who studied at General School No. 102 in Bucharest, engaging in musical activities at Children's Home No. 2, an orphanage located near the school. The mandolin orchestra was established by Professor Dinică Izverceanu from 1976 until 1990, participating in numerous festivities and bringing numerous titles, awards, and first places in inter-school competitions held within the "Cântarea României." After 1992, young people from different generations took to the streets with mandolins, guitars, and double bass, protesting against events of that time and expressing their freedom. Later, they aimed to delight passersby in Bucharest. After 1996, the mandolin ensemble "Trubadurii" "fragmented" into small groups. The groups were: Verg, La Strada, Acropolis, Aquarella, and later, Trubadurii Transilvaniei. The name "Trubadurii" was given in 1993 during a radio broadcast on "Antena Bucureștior." In a live broadcast and through phone contacts with radio listeners, the group of 16 young individuals aged 17 to 24 was "christened" with the name "Trubadurii."
