Best love songs for me: Maybe I’m Amazed by Paul McCartney and Case of You by Joni Mitchell which I believe is a beautiful song depicting more complex, deep but insufficient love.
I think you'd love Noah Kahan's album Stick Season. The songs are heartbreakingly beautiful and full of very good metaphores and allegories. Hope you analise some of his lyrics soon
Yeah, I Will Always Love You was the first one that came to mind, and I got a nice smile once I saw that was one of the two in this video. I'm trying to think of others, but all that's coming to mind are the great ones from musicals like A Whole New World, I See the Light, etc. Oh! I thought of one that's kind of a smart-alec answer (but still genuinely a magnificent song), Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. :)
Ooooh I'm very excited to get into the musical space soon :D and idk, I think Isn't She Lovely is a great love song! Doesn't have to be limited to romantic love :)
Neither are "the best love songs of all time" (and anyway, music/the arts is not a football game!). They're classics, but I wouldn't say that's even the best love song that The Beatles ever put out (they put out many, many classic love songs. There even was a great compilation double album, "The Beatles Love Songs" in the 70s). But Cole Porter's "Every Time We Say Goodbye" or an old standard like "You Stepped Out Of A Dream"...or "Stardust"! 1964 alone had both "My Girl" AND "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" just for a start (The Beatles had "And I Love Her" and "If I Fell" the same year as well) There are a MILLION love songs, there are probably 1000 contenders tied for #1.
Yeah, most songs are love songs, so too many contenders for sure! Tbh, I was surprised Something was on a lot of the lists I looked at, but once I broke down the words it made a bit more sense. Probably wouldn't make my top 5 though haha! Thanks for adding some of your favs as well ^.^
What songs would you add to the list?
My favorites are definitely “Always” by Ashe, “sweet nothing” by Taylor Swift and “Mona Lisa Mona Lisa” by FINNEAS

Adding on to great love songs: You’re Still the One by Shania Twain is iconic. And “Stand by Me” by Ben E King timeless

I'm hoping to do some from that album soon!
Yes! Record more videos of music that you love!
MEGAN taylors new album is gonna be a goldmine for lyrical analysis if the name "The Tortered Poets department" anything to go by
I knowwwww I'm so excited!! :D
"How Deep is Your Love?" (Bee Gees)
"Hallelujah" (Jeff Buckley version)
"The Beautiful Ones" (Prince & The Revolution)
I know it's a breakup song (not a love song), but Carly Simon's You're So Vain is just sooo good 😩 I'd love to see a lyric breakdown for it 👀😋
U2 - she moves in mysterious ways.
Shape of you, thinking out loud, photograph can be in the same category of abstract connections.
