I feel like ‘aa jaave dil tera, poora bhi na hove” that line is a curse, but not to the lover, but rather to the world that tries to separate lovers. Like Ali is saying to all those people who oppose love, that ‘I hope you fall in love too and it breaks your heart too’ so that they understand the pain lovers go through.

I'm so happy that someone decided to do this. I'm a huge Ali Seti fan gatekeeping him for years until this song really accelerated his name among the larger section of music lovers. I also had to struggle a lot to understand the meaning of the song and I agree with your interpretation. However, there is another fun fact about this that makes it so special and thoughtful and makes you understand the activism and the messaging of the song. The word 'Pasoori' appears only twice in the songs, at the beginning and at the end. If you listen carefully you will notice a difference in the pronunciation, once as Pasoori (R sound) and the other Pasoodi (da sound). This reflects the linguistics of the accents of a language spread across a large geographic area with diverse demographics. Once again, thank you for making this video.

It was the place where conflicts would be sorted through communication. Might be taken as a reference to Ali's idea for the two countries- to sit together on the basis of a shared culture and solving their 'Pasooris' through communication

The situation is similar here in Pakistan with Muhajirs. Whenever there are cultural conversations about Delhi and other parts of India that the Muhajir community belongs to, we naturally feel a deep connection. My grandparents were from 'Rani Khet' in Delhi, so I've always felt that my heart belongs to Delhi and its culture. It saddens me even more that we can't visit our ancestral homeland, and now our history has faded so much that our children aren't able to feel the same attachment we always did

So the story i that lovers are not able to meet together , or even if they meet , they cant say anything to each other maybe because of differences or maybe due to "Majbooriyan".
The more they try to meet each other , the more desperate and restless they become but they can't but due to "Majbooriyan" and differences . They grow more restless day by day unable to focus on their work and life and hence it becomes a curse.

In my opinion it has two motives:
    1) the lady at the left is seen wearing sneakers under the sareee.. again breaking the stereotype.
    2) Sarees has always been a source of unification between two communities. In every auspicious events sarees are exchanged. and its the moment when a woman enjoys any festival (talking about 70-80s setup). So his piya (here arrival of his piya is an auspicious event) might bring sarees for her from india and she is searching in the magazine and fantasizing about the saree he ll bring.

I strongly believe that it's high time we need to join hands .....and let the world see our growth together with awe.....
There might be differences of opinion, there might be differences in culture and so many more differences but the no one can deny the fact that WE ARE ONE AND THE SAME...our hearts are connected.... spreading this word of unity should surely start from our neighbours who are actually our brothers and sisters....it's high time that the people of both the countries decide their own future ... though our past have been bloody, but didn't both the side lose in the conflict....and for the betterment of the subcontinent and their people we should have common grounds for business, education arrt, cricket.....
Lastly how can we forget , brothers can't be enemies...love from Kolkata....I strongly believe we are meant to be together

This video came in my feed, and I clicked on it without knowing anything about your channel. I must say that you have done a great job in translating/interpreting the song (not just the lyrics, but the symbolism as well). Translation of Punjabi is on point, which many mainstream people just end up butchering most of the times.
In my opinion, ‘Aa jaavey dil tera, poora bhi na hove', has to be a "curse". First, Ali wouldn't have allowed an incorrect translation in the subtitles. Secondly, this type of "curse" is very common in Punjabi sufi poetry; rest aside the lovers, many times even God isn't spared 😉. e.g. "Rabba vicchar javey yaar tera, pataa lagg ju vichhora kee hai". I know, Punjabi poets can be brutal 😄.
In this song, the 'curse' doesn't have to be for the lover, it can be for the "world" (the creator of the mazbooris), which would make perfect sense in the context of this song. Also, Shae says this too in her part, and this phrase is repeated multiple times by both of them. This makes me think that its for the 'world', which needs to suffer to understand the suffering. (the same idea as ""Rabba vicchar javey yaar tera, pataa lagg ju vichhora kee hai").
Hopefully Ali explains it himself somewhere sometime, what he actually meant to say!
