Ghana military might not have all those equipments owned by their counterparts in the UK, USA, China , Germany ,etc . But their genuine bravely and zeal to serve is second to none. They are natural warriors who descended from combating and brave tribes like the Asanti - Akan, Ewe , Dagomba,etc.. Their bravely from pre-independence days especially in Burma ( Myanmar) , India and East Africa during their days with The West African frontier forces have gone unnoticed. There was one Major Charles, who after those many years during the colonial days is known for his bravery which is still a conversation in India . My father told me , he was able to fight and walk through bullets without a single shot piercing through his skin..They believed this Major had magic powers. Unfortunately the military has now become some sort of luxury job due to politicians. Where many genuinely eligible applicants have been refused . Which I think often affect the quality of recruits . Yet they still are successful in many operations in Lebanon, Liberia , Sierra Leone , Gambia , Somalia , Mali , Congo and Sudan.
