i love how alot of toms clients are seniors hah
My favorite muscle car video and car. too cool, and yes I want one!
I am convinced that if you need a hot rod engine and you can afford it go to Nelson Racing Engines and let Tom hook you up with what ever your heart desires. Apparently, he can build that twin turbo set up on any motor. I would love to see it on a Boss 429 engine.
holy shit brotha thats some art right there, great lookin ride and even better looking engine
" I can't imagine what a 90 year old couple would need with a car like this." The same reason a 48 year old would, intimidate & destroy everything in its path.
What a beast very impressive .and well crafted.
“It’s set at 1000, ya know, real mild, streetable….” 😳
thanks for the volume notice!!!
It will get that job done with no problem. I just hope the old timer doesn't develop a vacuum leak in the process.
LOL It's nice to see that guy keep the original radio!!
what a work of art!
Wow. 1100 idle. Sick torque monster
Dodge hellcat couldn't touch that,, very beautiful car dude !!
So far that’s the best looking car you have built I just love those little pony act like that and I love the paint job on that car you build the best cars out there and maybe one day I’ll get you to build me one like that if I ever win the lottery so congratulations on a beautiful car wherever the owner is Mr. Nelson you made for me NASCAR
I LOVE IT!
You'll be sending one of those to England when my lotto numbers come up.
love the videos, just curious why every turbo motor i see you test drive sounds like it has an off idle stumble from a dead stop.
It would be nice just to have one of these around the shop....
Bad ass! If wishes were wings I would be flying in that one...
a race track has turns in it, a drag strip is straight.
There are several 1000+ HP turbo builds that put down near 20 mpg while cruising with appropriate rear gear and street tires. Stop-and-go traffic is a different story of course because they still have huge displacement regardless of boost.
Wife never has to worry about milk going bad before she gets home from the grocery store!!
beautifull machine , love it.
its actually interesting,as on paper old cars and some vans with v8 engines also dont seem much,in fact you can get more power out even from some smaller engine like vw's vr6 engine and so on,but they sure surprise alot when you sit in one of those and just feel how the acceleration pulls you in the seat.
Apples to oranges, my friend. Your muscle cars are just as easy to make fun of if you imagine them trying to take corners on a mountain road. Lets keep to our respective venues, shall we?
If God drove a car, this is what it sound like!
i was like "no way that would fit in a car"...
and then 1:18 came and i was like holy shit...
I wonder if he puts the engine in the car by removing the front axle and installing through the bottom like they do in the factory?
Would be cool if he installed a key controlled mechanism for un-locking the 2000 hp up from 1000, sort of like the Dodge Challanger Hellcat red key idea.....or installing a 3 stage turn knob for 3 different boost levels, like the Noble M600..............
I'M GLAD I "CAME" here!
is there video of this thing running at the drag strip?
The license plate reads FLU723 because this car is really sick.
Awesome build congrats & thanks for posting the video. I'm a little disappointed it's not a Pontiac engine though. They have after market aluminum Pontiac blocks now that can be punched out to over 600 cubic inches & huge Ram Air 5 type heads on 2200 HP turbo charged engines like the one Justin Shearer aka Big Chief has in his car. Yes I'm a PONTIAC MANIAC!!! "IN THRUST WE TRUST"
also like i said what do you drive to out do this beautiful machine ? just wondering if you could even afford the tires of this car.
Any videos of this car on the track?
Ive looked but cant find any Nelson engines that do good quarter mile times, any real life slips/examples?
3:57 'that's half throttle' ----> i was like holy shit :O
That's crazy!
The owner of this car is gonna have a heart attack at the wheel if he ever gets into it. You need to be in shape to drive a monster like this. I can't imagine what a 90 year old couple would need with a car like this.
how much would it take to have you take a stock 318 and put it to about 5 to 600 hp
my god how much torque does that thing make? im pretty sure my car cant break loose at 20 mph in 3rd
I love how the fuel pump running at 2:11 sounds like any other car has already been started... Them aint no small rear tires either.
Sick
Lebaron thank you
could you guys put one of those engines in my pontiac G6 pleaseeeeee!!!!
F'n Sweet Tempest!...
@gokartmaster123
Did you just say turbos are sluggish at an engines top end? When the hell do you think they make power?
Agreed. Just like that demonsparkx guy.
These guys from Nelson don't play around when it comes to high end motors!
is the little blue FB for sale?
I have a tubed/caged 80 Camaro and looking for a sponsor ;》
I know 2000 hp is alot to handle for tires, but in the 21st century I'm sure he could get the rubber and suspension setup so it hooks instantly. I'd love to see the G's once that's done.
hahah, no doubt. i also wish i could afford such a sexy machine
how many gas galons per inch?
That's bad ass
That sound!...
Think i could put 1 of these in my '70 challenger :)?
I'm going to assume they put a traditional drivetrain in it - that motor would tie a knot in the "Rope Drive".
what kind of shifter is that
my nana is looking for adaily driver is this for sale
@TheCivicguyd16 problem with that is this engine has more money in it then those supras would be bought and built for.
Got a '64 tempest.. how much for the engine haha??.. all mines got is a stock 389
Happiness is, having a wife who enjoys your hobbies and love for cars that go (VROOM VROOMMMmmm)...
I want one of those..
Could you take this engine/ setup on a long trip??
Like the Corvettes that own the road racing circuits all around the world?
Prob around 40-50k. They have a website you can look at all their engines
I wanted a car like that! But in Brazil haven't
Whats an engine like this cost
Holy crap batman!!!!!! That is one BAMF!!!
I want one for my MOPAR !!
Fast. As Tom said, it'll go 7's, cars that go 7's trap anywhere from around 175 to 200+ mph, depending on weight, torque/hp, etc.
For comparison, Larry Larson performed a 6.9 second pass at 209 mph with a few thousand RPM left to go. Big Red (NORC/Silver State Classic Camaro - big block, all motor) was doing 230 mph back in the 80's on open Nevada highway. Given room, Larson's Nova, this Pontiac etc. should have enough grunt for 250+ mph before they hit an aerodynamic wall.
That much power would be awsome in an awd aero racer.
1200+hp to go get groceries....love it.
On these you count Smile per mile :)
the cubic inches are getting ever so close to military tanks!
@TheCivicguyd16 Where? What Supra?
i wonder how many points are on his license and how many tickets he must have gotten in the past
About as street-able as a 7 sec car get's I guess .... granted its probability a hell of a lot easier to drive then a Pro Stock mountain motor is on the street.
You should jump up on the highway and stab the gas for about 2 miles, just to test the highway drive-ability!
money well spent!!!!
it actually was awhile ago
true
what does that mean
He is right, granted at the amount of power they have...gas mileage is not really there, but you can turbo or super charge a car and not ruin your gas mileage by much if at all, unless you well drive it like you stole it. but if you drive it normal...don't get in the gas. you won't mess up your gas mileage
I wanna put something like that in my dads 68 beamaunt
this NEEDS bigger turbos, 6psi WHAATTTT, thats just fucking crazy that engine must have a stroke of 5 gigalitres
Yeah, smallblocks maybe.. And thats only when you're idling down the highway, staying completely out of the power.. So yes, less power used = less fuel used.
The guy drives it like a Japanese motorcycle Crank that sumbitch up and drive it like you stole it son
Superchargers don't take it down but about 2mpg, because of the other mods you have to do to the car. They don't ruin it the gas mileage unless you get in it, and as i said in my first comment, with the power they have, gas mileage isn't really there at all.
i would love to have this job lol
i want one so bad
2:11 music to my ears
@mnowak365 License ?
I've never heard 1000hp described as "real, real mild" before.
holy shit
So is that half throtle of 1000 hp?
Was this car or any of these types of cars made to go around corners...no.
Damn, man. You could take her out on the highway and make five-o cry & shit their pants.
The factory radio is a nice touch :-)
