- Oh, the Disney Store! That's like the ultimate dream shop for anyone who's all about Disney. Imagine walking into a store jam-packed with super cool Disney stuff, and yep, some of these items you can't find just anywhere because they're exclusive. We're talking about a whole variety of goodies from plush toys to costumes, all under one roof or at the Disney Outlet. It's a little piece of Disney magic bundled up in a shopping experience.
Back in the day, the Disney Store was pretty revolutionary - it was the first to mix retail with entertainment, which they called "retail-tainment." Pretty neat, right? Besides the iconic Disney Store, Disney didn't stop there. They dabbled in other ventures too, like ESPN-The Store for sports fans and even had a go with Mickey’s Kitchen, a restaurant that was, sadly, short-lived. But hey, now there’s Disney Baby for the little ones, Walt Disney Gallery for the art lovers, and even Disney’s Soda Fountain and Studio Store for those who fancy a sweet treat while they shop.
There was this cool phase when the Disney corners popped up in fancy places like Harrods in London, complete with a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique salon. Imagine getting a princess makeover right after picking out your new favorite Disney gown!
Ownership has been a bit of a roller coaster. For a while, from 2004 to 2008, The Children's Place took over the North American stores through its subsidiary Hoop Holdings. Over in Japan, the Oriental Land Company was in charge until 2010. Now, you can even find Disney sections in about 520 JCPenney stores, which started around 2012. And, believe it or not, in India, there are specific chains like Disney Jeans and Disney Artist, each managed by different companies.
The big news at the 2019 D23 Expo was all about Disney making a move into Target stores, right before "Frozen II" hit the theaters. So, it's not just Disney outlets or the Disney Store website where you can snag these goodies, but Target stores and Target.com are in on the action too.
Oh, and let's not forget about Disney's Character Warehouse Outlet Stores. They're like the treasure chest for Disney merch, selling overstock and discontinued items from the parks. This concept is run by Asset Management & Sales LLC, led by Janie and Gary Stump. You'll find a few permanent locations, but sometimes they pop up temporarily, making it a bit of a fun hunt for Disney enthusiasts.
So, whether you're after the latest Disney toy, a nostalgic piece from one of the parks, or just looking to experience a bit of Disney magic while shopping, the Disney Store and its various outlets and extensions have got you covered. - Zábava

Oh my gosh..so many cute and amazing disney merch at awesome prices. I can't believe how much lower the price are the merch there at the disney character warehouse than the disney merch that we avail here at the disney outlet stores here in California.
