Eh. Not quite. Have you heard the LT4 and seen its performance? I will agree with you, this is the most powerful engine produced of its time, and that's cool, but if you want a modern powerful American V8, the LT4 is where it's at.
This is not the most powerful engine produced of its time. The LS-6 454 was the highest rated V8 in the early 1070's.
SIR SWERVE Highest rated, but while the HEMI was rated at 425hp, indipendent dyno tests have shown it made somewhere between 480-490hp
@@davidenobile426 Well all the Hemis were detuned from factory, since they couldn't have people driving around with fully NASCAR speed capable engines. Hemis also were much more expensive and harder to work on, that's why the most common engine for performance on the streets in those days were 440s, 383s, 318s, 360s, 340s and 413s in Chrysler cars.

As a once proud owner of a 68 Charger RT, and a present day proud owner of a 2012 Charger RT, 2 doors or 4 doors, it doesn't matter, they're still Mopars! In my opinion the 68-70 Chargers are the best looking cars ever to roll off a Detroit assembly line, but I do love the modern day technology of my 12 Charger. And the debate rolls on.........

Here's an idea; make all future Chargers 2 door, and change the name of the current style 4 door Charger to Cornet. Problem solved

Dam that hemi roar is just unique. I have special place in my heart for all 3 American muscle manufacturers, can't jus ignore the LS (can be stock or boosted). Waw to Ford as they created a new mammoth of a powerplant called coyote, its huge yet smallest cubic inches outa the 3, 5.0 accelerates faster than the 6.4(weight difference ofcourse, Ford gots diet advantage). These 426's are perfected as are all hemi's.... thats why they still use that old engine design but ford's & gm's v8's had transformed- all for the better jus wait wen dodge shows out a new v8 design!!!!!!! FFS bring back the viper or put the viper's v10 in a challenger trim
