- Yes, I'm getting pretty excited to try LARPing, and I've committed to making a whole new kit for the occasion. In this video I make myself a new pouch for my LARP character, and go through the entire process with you.

Looks great! Very savvy!
That is an honestly impressive bit of leatherwork
Thank you.
Nicely done!❤❤❤
Thanks
Its a very nice bag. That image is really lovely. Maybe a decorative stamp around the flap edge?
That is a good idea.
Great inspiration thanks- On a similar journey but much earlier steps. May well see you in the field.
Hopefully. Come and say hi if you see me.
10 years ago I use to reenact as part of the Yorkist royal camp at Tewkesbury then took a break. Last year I tried Empire Larp for the first time, now it has encouraged me to rejoin a group that does Yorkist at Tewkesbury……full circle
Awesome! It will be great to see another reenactor/Larper
@@ZacharyEvans well look for the Weavers Rest in Dawn if you ever do Empire Larp , or look forward to Tewkesbury in the Yorkist Royal Encampment as the Hastings/ Donne living history tent
If you want to make the tooled image pop a little more, you might want to consider giving it a wash/antiquing with a lighter colour acrylic paint. Don't forget to add some finish beforehand, so the paint doesn't stain the leather.
I definitely want to experiment with that in future. I'm planning on doing lots of leatherwork.
Very nice! I just made a bag for my outfit, but it came from a kit so pretty much all I had to do was stitch it.
They're great projects to start on, and I find leather work much easier than sewing fabric.
another time, if you do the inprint first, you could paintbrush a diferent colour onto the design
Yes, I could try that with a future design. This won't be the last pouch I make, and I'm already working on more leather things.
Looks alot like my faction wintermark like from the larp I go to very nice aswell
I'll probably see you there then!
@@ZacharyEvans aye nice see u around
Having the decoration off-centered gives it a more "historical" vibe, if that makes sense.
It's completely true. It just looks odd to a modern eye.
If you showed up in your 15th century harness everyone else would hang their heads in shame and go home.
I only have to put my harness on its stand at Larp to get lots of envious response
I wouldn't want everyone else to go home. I am hoping to make everyone green with envy still.
I'm terribly sorry, but you are going to have to hit a bit harder, I can't really feel that!
Does your pouch have some kind of fastener? Will it loose things without a fastener or something if you run, jump etc?
This one doesn't. It's actually tight enough that it hasn't needed a fastening in all the tests I have done. Would be easy to add though.
🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃
It is difficult to see the detail of the engraving on that black leather pouch. Perhaps next time engrave a leather badge of a contrasting lighter color (like light brown to match the side leather pieces) and sew it on the pouch (the lower face of the pouch, not the flap as a badge will make the flap rigid and heavy).
Good idea. I need to make my in character bag as well, so all ideas are useful.
