    Kaplan America, thank you for parading these gems in front of me from a time in motorcycling history that I completely cherish because I lived through it and what a great time it was ! I remember this model used to come in a very handsome burnt orange with tan pin striping. I remember seeing some guy zipping around on one on the trails near my house back in the day. A very desirable mount.

    My buddy had one of these RT 360's and he used to try to keep up with my MXB 400 in the Michigan woods......couldn't talk him into putting a set of knobbies....every time we hit sand he nearly killed himself. These were a sweet little bike if you used as intended. This video was good and brought back many a chuckle thinking about those days. Thanks

    I just picked up a '70. A friend of mine found it in some hoarder house. It was buried under junk the old man's been collecting for 50 years. It's been caked in dust and grime yet amazing condition and all original and complete. The bike was last registered in '75. So I figure it hasn't ran since then. Inside the gas tank seems spotless and so is the engine peeking at it. No keys so that sucks but I can't wait to wash it down and make it run, drive and stop. Totally keeping it as a survivor. I'd love you guys to actually take up on this project.

    I own a 1971 RT1 360 Yamaha. I live at Lake Taupo in New Zealand.I bought my bike in 1971 and i still own it. I am doing the same to my bike as what has been done to yours, a frame off restoration.I used to race mine so i want to put it back to standard original condition and enjoy it in my retirement.

    I had a Yama 100 enduro from around that time. I was a kid and just rode it in the woods. That thing was HEAVY.

    Definitely need the compression release when kicking that bad boy. My dad had the 1972 and I kicked my leg off a few times.

      Definitely left my ankle bruised more than a few times... my compression release valve was seized.

    • @davidkeeton6716
      @davidkeeton6716 Před 2 lety

      What exactly do you mean when you say kicking it with the compression release? Do you mean that you are pulling the compression release while kicking it? Are you getting it spinning over and then letting go of the compression release while it's still spinning? I use the compression release to slow down like a flat tracker does or to bring the piston just past TDC and then kick it.

    Reminds me of the CT175 I had in Papua new Guinea in 1971. Wish I still had it (or one of these!). Thanks for the show.

    Ken told Kenny, "We should go beat the guy up, and take his dog, since it looks hungry. Your Grandmaw would have done that!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️....I'm a huge animal lover too, brother. With the way things are in society today, I love animals much more than people, since they always give unconditional love, and many people don't. True Fact..Gorgeous bikes, that look very classy. Beautiful scenery in your town, Brother.

    Beautiful bike in amazing condition! I personally like the Rt3 with reeds and larger front wheel the best but this would definitely be #2 on my list. Someone will end up with an amazing classic.

    Both of your RT1 and RT2 360s are, as has been said, beautiful. My personal interest is in both bikes, but if I had to choose, I'd have to go for the 1971 if its still available.
    I've been around these 2 particular Yamaha models since they were in the show room.
    I own a completely original 1973 RT3 with low mileage. Have owned it since 1989.
    Keep up your great work atb Kaplan. I'll be in touch.

    Ken - beautiful bikes. I agree with you on the dog....dammit! If a fella has an animal he ought to take care of it. Nice to see you and your son riding together. My wife and I had 4 kids and all 6 of us used to ride the Wyoming mountains.....I think it helped them to turn out to be great kids and responsible adults. Keep the Faith, Tom

    I wonder, after all your great information about my all time favorite Enduro, why my comment isn't related to that. Instead, it's about your comment you made about, (did you say Kenny?)(I have just subscribed to you guys so this is the first video I've watched but I'm sure I'm going to watch many more and will know his name sorry) but you mentioned his grandmother or great grandmother beating someone up to help save their animal! We must be related! That's badass I think!! I'd love to hear the whole story maybe someday!!!

    I have a 1970 4-D T3 16. Girl and I restored it. That's about 90% Don and runs like a top. And I'm wondering what it's worth. All new paint nutiers tubes. Everything you can think of I replace at $4200 just different receipt. I married this bike. Now it's time to figure out what it's worth so I can sell it. I can't write it anymore. I'm too old so if you would like to let me know what it's worth. I'd appreciate it.
