Dude... you look exceptionally tired. Not a knock. I've been there brother... with twins, no less. It gets better.
Two under two is no picnic either. Kids are now 6 and 4 and things are still chaotic
@@jeremyrafuse5330 mine are teenagers, 2 girls. They just get more expensive and dramatic lol
@Dean Harkness sounds legit haha I miss the days of crawling and no talking. A simpler time hahaha
@@AD1978leo my dad has always told me that each kid is the price of a house! during the time we were at home. With my sister he built 2 houses...and we are both born in the 60's...
Hey Agu! I'm from Brazil and there is some brazilian guitarrists that are using guitars from S by Solar, even some stores have some in stock already, it looks and sounds good for the price! Unfortunally in Brazil guitars are VERY expensive, so having this new option is awesome.
You are really fucking good at guitar man, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Your riffs are sick
Seconded! It's easy for someone to boo from the stands while you're putting yourself out there fighting in the arena, brother. You are a fantastic player, Hunter. More than capable of showcasing all the gear on your channel. Not one of these pond slime projecting in the comments has ever played a note worth hearing of anything.
Haters gonna hate. They just peanut butter and jealous. Not only is he good at guitar, but he's good at content creation.
For the static, you can take dryer sheets or the anti static spray and a microfiber rag and rub the guitar down with them to help reduce/eliminate it. Often have to do it multiple times. Phil McKnight has talked about this a few times if you want more info
For the Solar X - first a quick correction, the purple 7 is listed as a 25.5” scale not 26.5”. Wish it was a baritone scale as it’s literally the only thing missing on it for me. All that said, I love the x type, it’s everything I was hoping for and will be my first Solar here in a few months. Still planning to get that purple 7, so the lack of baritone scale isn’t a deal breaker by any means.
Ah, you're absolutely right on the X shape. 24.75" for the 6, 25.5" for the 7. I got mixed up with the T shapes I've been looking at haha
And I'm probably talking with Phil later today, so I'll be sure to ask more about that!
@@agufish right on you two are by far my favorite creators on here, so that’s rad to hear.
The only reason the S guitars are strange, is that Ola didn't do a joke about owning "ass guitars"
When are you going to launch your guitar line that consists of only single-cuts?
Love the return of high praise of the week
Finally someone talking about S by Solar. I bought mine a few days ago and it's yet to arrive... Can't wait to play it
I also thought reaaaaaly sketchy and considered the video being a DP, if/when it arrives i'll let yall know
Have 2 of them already. Considering a 3rd one. Good guitars for the price tag.
@@agufish It just arrived and my first impressions after playing for a bit is that it's descent... no more no less. At least out of the box. It needs to wroked on.
The frets are realy rough, with no polish to its name. like it was sanded along the neck. You can feel it with every vibrato/bend.
It feels small. I've been play an Ibanez 7 strings (GIO 7221) for quite a while, so that's that.
The pickups sounds good, athough weak.. Maybe it needs to be raisen up a bit.... and definately new strings. right now it feels like 8s.....
The finishing is 9.8/10. Only 2 little imperfections on the side of the fretboard. The painted neck is odd, but it feels good
To be honest i'm kinda on the fence. Expected a bit more. Maybe i'll see it as a good mod plataform.
Maybe you try get your hands and how far off it's from the top tier Solar's
Chears. Keep up the good work
Solar might be my new favorite guitar company. Not only do I love Ola's philosophy when it comes to his brand, but the instruments themselves are really good. I own an AB1.7S and it outclasses my custom Kiesel at almost half the price. While I don't like guitars that "look too metal" I still believe Solar will be my next guitar purchase.
I personally own a V1.6 LTD pricing at 1300€ and although it is a good guitar that i love , it does not match the price.
Quality control is not very good atleast on mine. Pickups are very middle range . but Support is very responsive though.
But for 1300€ Ibanez or ESP is doing much much better. IMO
@@synhet84 uh, I have found my experience to be the total opposite, personally. LTD was always consistent but never perfect and Ibanez were always a mixed bag to me, either very good or very bad in terms of QC.
I dig your style and insight mate, keep up the good work 🤘
I Love how you (Agufish) approaches playing the guitar. To me,your playing definitely is a fresh take on the instrument.Ive been playing for 20 years and I even find myself in that pentatonic blues noodling.I like to mess around with your riffs sometimes and it helps me get outta my ruts. You Rock Hunter!!!🤘😎👍
Hey dude, I think you're playing is awesome for the simple fact that it's not like everyone else's stuff. You have your own sound and style and I don't care what anyone says that's cool.😎 Stay inspired man!
About Marceau guitars:
"Dominante" would be pronounce similarly to how you pronounced it in the video except forget the "e" at the end. So like you would say dominant in english but with a "frencher" A.
At the end of the day, it literally doesn't matter, french is a stupidly hard language to pronounce and understand for non-native speakers. Trying is far more than enough lol.
Oh, my bad lol. Now that I’m Canadian I gotta learn the proper “Frencher” pronunciation. Thank you for the correction
@@agufish I mean, I'm from québec we're the first to butcher both french AND english on the daily, don't worry!
now that you mention it, I've noticed my friend's Holcomb SE is always super dusty.
I got that same Zach Myers semi hollow for my first guitar. The 594 specifically.
Very nice finish, nice satin neck.
I love my Solar. Bought it used for $400 and its one of my favorite guitars. It's super comfortable to hold and play. Tiny bit of fret sprout but nothing that I haven't seen on much more expensive guitars and it hasn't been enough of an issue for me to bother fixing it. I'm considering buying another.
When I was growing up in the 80s. And yes I`m an old man thats been followingyour channel for atleast 4 years, I had two les paul copies that were fantastic, One was an Aria pro 2 in a blue burst and I had a cream white Hondo 2. These guitars are hard to find now but they played as good and better than some single cuts I have now. I started playing thrash when it broke in the 80s and never looked back, Been rockin every since. Love this channel and all the info I pick up,It`s been awesome to watch you grow. Thanks for all the work. Peace and by the way, You F*****g Rock. !!! Gotta love the Haters,Lol. Do what you do bro !!
I own a SE Tremonti (2nd gen). Never had a dust problem, and I live in the desert. Gloss finish on the back of the neck never gets sticky. I swear by the microfiber towels for regular cleaning.
in the website the Solar Xs are listed as 24.75" scale for 6 strings and standard 25.5" scale on the 7s
I have a solar A2.1 and it's beautiful, plays amazing and is made very well
I have quest ion whats the best cables ? Is the jack bigger
Yes, my PRS CE has the same issue with the dust collection. I just wipe it down every now and then. It's definitely gotten better the longer I've had the guitar.
To be honest, Budget solar with a single humbucker looks awesome.
Prs has done an S2 in satin black before but it was also an exclusive option so they’re pretty rare around the market. Have seen and played in person at the music shop I work at!
Hunter we love you bro- get some sleep man. Hugs to you man
When will the budget solar guitars be available for purchase?
Does solar still have QC issues or have they been resolved? Hard to find a straight answer
Just curious what kinda wood the body?
Recently got a used solar V in the aged finish and evertune I love it but still want one of their T style guitars maybe one of these might be a an option if I can't find a good deal for a standard one.
Yo, bro, you need coffee like yesterday haha. I get it man busy and life sucks somedays. Also keep up the killer work and congrats on the Canadian citizenship 🤘🏻❤️🤍
Love the Solar X and definitely waiting for a Floyd version
I love the x shape!!!!! I have a dean ml but I want one of these so much.
Exciting times
Get one of the swiffer or whatever brand dusters it pulls more dust than anything I've tried, they work on the same static principals.
Hi, i own 2 Solar : one S1.6 and one AB 1.6. For the price they are amazing. I played and own almost 40 differents guitar (from 500 to 5000€) and today i only play on my two Solar !
Amazing finish, high specs, reliable and a killer tone. This is the brand of the future for all guitarist want a solid rock/metal guitar 👍
I love bright guitars my first electric (bought myself) was a hot pink kramer. I have an s2 singlecut standard first it fits in a michael kelly hybrid special case so that help also fragrance free dryer sheets help my godin is the worst about static also strats just rub the pickguard or body if needed. I keep a dryer sheet in the case
we were the first country (BRAZIL) to receive this Guitars with exclusivity. i want to buy, it's amazing guitar!
I like the Solar X. That's what I'm into. Two changes I'd make are the input jack and toggle positions. Input jack on the upper part rather than the lower. My Jackson Randy Rhoads has it on the upper protrusion which makes it easier to play in the neck high classical position when sitting down. I'd have the toggle closer to the volume knob because that's where I'm used to reaching for it in previous guitars I've owned. Again, using my Jackson as an example, it's between the volume and tone knobs on mine. So if I could afford a custom Solar X, they're the changes I'd make. But overall, if I was given one as is I'd be very happy with it.
PRS S2 594 satins used to be dealer/shop/distributor specials. I have a 2020 in Seafoam Green and I bought it because it was satin. I do prefer the open pore and hope they do the Thinline 594 in Open Pore Vintage Cherry at some point.
Static Guard spray it on a rag ....or dryer sheets to eliminate static....I had static problems with my Gibson SG and that solved it ....I was told that when they buff the finish it can cause a static build up at the factory.
I think you're a great guitar player :) My definition of a great guitar player is "Whatever you play, play it well". And you play your stuff well. I never listened to your stuff and thought "gee he could've played that much better". You've always played it well. F$%$ the haters :D
Brother you are a damn good player!
My issue with my S2 594 is that it scratches so easily!! It seems like just lightly touching it leaves fine scratches. I've never owned a guitar that has that problem before.
Not sure about guitars but when I run a polish pad after wet sanding clear on a car it can get super static. I bet it's the polish phase that does it.
I'm usually really not a fan of pointy guitars but I absolutely love these Solar X, the only sad thing is the fact that that absolutely stunning metallic purple finish is only for the 7 string version
Damn those PRS look awesome love the Green... And pink?
Im Brazillian, Solar guitars fan, and the S by solar news is something great for me kkkkkkk Im definetely going to check it out!
I don't know what the difference between satin and matte finish, but I had a matte finish core line that was AWESOME. You can almost hear them resonate, and I find them to just sound livelier. everything just pops more.
You'd think that the AAA flamed tops be better looking in gloss, but I think they look better in matte. I saw one in a Paul's Guitar core model, I had so run my hand across the top because it looked like I would feel the flame, I didn't buy it looked like I would.
Having building and repairing thousands of guitars, across the board I find matte and stain finished just vibrate more freely.
I can't wait to play a Solar. I think they are the coolest looking guitars out there.
banger video
Have you checked out the Stl Josh Middleton Tonality? Highly recommend you check it out
I am excited for the solar (S) line. Not everyone can just drop 800$ for a guitar especially during these times.
i’m genuinely really interested in the budget solars. i’m usually not into super shreddy guitars, but there’s a few solar models that i’m curious about, so having a cheaper option to potentially try them out is rad
To me the Solar X shape is their E type combined with a RR style offset V. Evokes both the warrior and the Ml
Surprised you know Rockloe! Nice to see she's international! Also very cool to learn that marceau will be the builder for Solar Europe models!
Here’s your dust fix. Consider a ceramic automotive coating. I’d recommend something like chemical guys hydro slick. Music nomad also makes a guitar wax which is decent too and much cheaper.
Need that Solar x type in green asap
PRS had a signature SE for Billy Martin that was matt black in 2005 I think
I like fretboard marker inlays. Solar guitars look incredible but they only have a few that have them, so I haven't really considered one.
I have 5 Solar guitars all 1.x models and i want more. I love the new X shape but will wait for FR equipped 1.6 version.
Greetings from NZ 😎🎸🤘
I can't wait for some eu prices on Squolars :D
Not so sure about the "S" line. But, love Solars, having two of them, and hope to get the new model when they drop the 2. series.
So I’d owned a couple PRS SE and didn’t “get it” and eventually sold them. Then a couple weeks ago my local Music Go Round had a cherry burst S2 custom 24 and it was awesome. I traded in some amps and guitars I wanted to clear out anyway (didn’t realize how much the internet had forced local stores to actually offer more for used gear so I actually got a decent price) and took it home.
I don’t even like red guitars or bursts really, but I DEFINITELY get it now. It even has me wondering how I can scrape together the $3k for the sick 513 they also have. Guess I’m a PRS guy now.
1:02 that’s exactly why I want one. One day, I will get one. One day.
The Solar X shape is a Jackson Kelly and Dean X smashed together
I would definitely buy S by solar 7 string. Ola please release the guitars worldwide
The thing about solar that I dig is that Ola seems to be a genuinely nice person so it's like you can't help but root for his brand just on that alone. It seems like he listens to customers feedback. Other brands that aren't as big as like fender, Gibson, etc. The owners tend to be sketchy or just douches so it kindof makes me not want a guitar from them.
I think the Solar X shape is the best looking X shape on the market it does everything right it’s like a Charvel Star a Rhoads and a Dime Stealth blended together perfectly. It’s the best looking new take on an older shape since the Jackson Kelly.
I would assume the budget Solars are made Tagima in their import factory. Tagima is a brazilian brand that has both a made in Brazil and import line
The sean long guitar riff was sick. He was never going to collaborate. The internet is dark. Your playing is fantastic you know what you like and have a voice. Your relevant. If you say someone is crap at guitar post a video as you must be a virtuoso im sure. Even then just be quiet. For real ignore trolls your my favorite youtube guitarist trully.
You’re a good guitarist and a solid writer with a bright future A Fish…don’t sweat the Jelly’z bro
Solars take on the X shape looks like a Dimebag Washburn Stealth .
Ciao from Brazil. This S by Solar is legit. I have a Solar V and ended up buying an EB4 out of curiosity. Well it plays well it feels nice and very close to the Solar, being the differences the ones you mentioned. Well… I bought an A4 now. They are really good for the price point. Cool vid by the way
I wonder if the static on the guitars is cause of the painting process I've heard gibson hooks up some crap to guitars that kinda charges them then the finish sticks better and thinner finish
Nitro also but yeah my old buckethead lespaul had static problems if I ran my hand up and down the neck it could slightly crackle through the amp I put a dryer sheet in the cavity and it seemed to help a little lol it was still in there when the ex sold it
My prs has a dust problem. Western Wa. How I deal with it is I don't. It's a losing battle for me yo fight
The first Solar X with a Floyd will have 2 variants out of 3-4: a green burst (Dime Slime) and natural (Southern Cross)
I thought the 7 string X models were 25.5” not 26.5” scale length
Great video!! Only issue is Solar is nothing but a Washburn with a logo change. They are still being made in same location as the Washburn but the same people.
Budget Solar concept is pretty awesome if the QC can at least be consistent (though I get that it's tougher at a lower pricepoint).
Their new X shape is killer, but I've already got 1 too many x shape guitars ('07 Ibanez Xpt700), so I'm good, BUT I cannot get enough of the Artist "worn" look. I want another style with that vibe.
Dude, you need to talk to your people at Harley Benton to bring back the Amarok EX and an Amarok Victory would be cool also. I lone vintage shaped guitars with a modern look.
My PRS S2 was also a dust magnet. I solved it by selling it.
Actually, the X Model is styled after the Kramer Voyager and Focus 5000 from the 80s and the Moser Faststar.
S by solar sounding good cos i Been Want budged frendly V guitars with still good quality For looong Time... hope they Make also lefty versiona of those
Am I the only one who wants to see a Solar A or S with a pickguard
SO SICK
The new X series reminds me a ton of the Washburn stealth which makes sense as those are pretty hard to find and Dime was maining them when he was in Damage Plan.
Lucky enough to have a washburn st pro and I lovvveee the solar x. If I could justify another guitar, I would immediately buy an x
@@janniklaswittmann1667 Honestly I'm so jealous, I've wanted one for the longest time but the prices are so damn inflated now. The closest shape I've played is the Ibanez Xiphos and they aren't even that similar.
Yeah I paid like 1700 euros for a beat up red one 2 years ago 🥲it's insane. But I loooove it. Don't regret it for a second
I want an 24" Strat with Tune O Matic... I would call it the Castostrater ^^....
the X is clearly inspired by the Stealth Dean model
Love the X, Love Solar
My ce 24 is a freaking dust magnet
I've always been interesting in the Chapman guitars, especially the Ghost fret, i have no idea why his name sparks such vitriol tho
I was thinking about getting a solar guitar so joined a FB group and all I see is cracked fretboards and dodgy frets. Seems like the QC at solar is lacking.
A budget Solar line would be a crazy success if introduced in more markets. I don't think they could keep up with demand. That's probably why it's only in a few countries at this time.
SOLAR is one of the few companies that has a lot of overtones on their models and one of the very few that has them on flying V's with 7 and 8 strings.! I think they are a fantastic business!
300 dollar solars sounds dope to me
Is it just me or is the audio in the ICYMI section of the video really off?
.....Bound for the hang 3.
Budget Solars now? This company is taking over.
Happy Monday, everyone! Let’s get it!
"in my quest to try every single cut"
Hey, I haven't seen you do an FGN Expert Flame yet, or I missed it.
I got a well-gigged one (came with clip strap already installed) for an amazing deal and it still rips - oxidation, buckle rash, and all; plays like buttered butter. Oddly enough it's a tobacco burst *plaintop* even though the model is quite literally named Flame (tiny joke).
I haven't played a Knaggs or Huber but since it already plays better than any Les Paul I've ever touched I'm assuming it will do well against their single cuts also.
Happy Monday yo!
As for your playing! You have a unique ability that VERY few have! I know this because I share this ability & that's to be able to play in the styles of others. You also have seriously killer chops! Never give a second thought to what others think about people's bullshit.
Keep doing what you do yo! 🤘
Solar dont or wont do guitars in gloss black :/ . Us old bastards want some traditional gloss black, not low rent looking flat or matte. I'd want that with a Floyd too, and active EMG's. Done to death, I know, but not at all by Solar. I'd take an X in that format pronto. Even their transparent blood red, I'd love that shade of red in a solid finish. But no, not happening. Yes I'm a sad old git living in the past, but I do have money to spend :D
