I've been mocking up 3D printed cold plate concepts for about a year but haven't had a chance to get a fabricator to make me a reasonably priced prototype. Not sure exactly how those are done but I think there's future potential for high performance blocks as long as the material properties are effective enough.
I do like the idea of getting away from traditional DIMM slots for high performance systems. This opens up a lot of interesting potential for overclocking and I'd hope allow more boards to reliably support faster speeds. However it would need to be standardized without a significant increase in cost and might make more sense for HEDT platforms.

This kind of usage of metal 3d printing floats on the surface, but costs aren't anywhere near to classic machining(while it still needs machining including detaching printing piece from build plate which requires additional labor), it could be an innovation if they would actually make a product for a reasonable price.

I'm still waiting on the industry to create a successor to the ATX case layout that is built with high performance systems in mind. You know, stuff like a GPU that draws more power and needs more cooling than the CPU, expansion cards that need more than just the PCIe slot for structural support, and assuming that memory needs more than just passive airflow for cooling. Maybe a motherboard layout that has a keep-out zone adequate for a 250W CPU cooler rather than a 65w CPU cooler so we can actually reach cable connectors after the CPU cooler is installed? You know, stuff like that. If that is too hard, could we at least get some more case options with the motherboards mounted horizontally? That at least helps with the GPU structural support issues. Also, GPU's have gotten so wide and CPU coolers to tall, that high performance cases are almost wide enough to support going back to horizontal motherboard mounting anyway.

    1. I have no idea why anyone wants to pay a premium for a screen on their aio.
    2. Bendy screen is cool until it breaks and you need it repaired under waranty.

ASUS has got lots of work to do before I buy something from them again. That's really too bad because they traditionally have had great products and support but the company seems to have lost their way.

Funny how "asus" and "high quality" are mentioned in the same sentence ^^

At this rate we might as well just plaster a whole iPad on an AIO

Was that a HDMI-cable on the AIO? LoL, just a week or couple ago I was looking for small screens for one project and those, even flexible ones, are like $50, $70 if you want a fancy phone quality screen because you need HDMI-adapter for them. Those screen are pretty much the biggest scam in the tech world now right after ASUS customer support.

My feedback for Asus is that I don't care what they come out with so long as they keep doing scams with their warranty claims. Until they publicly commit in writing and actions that they will actually honor their warranties without playing scams on their customers with charging for repairs that should be free under warranty, I will continue to blacklist anything and everything Asus to myself and friends and family.

ASUS is that good looking person you see at the bar, but your good friend Steve warns you "Watch out...they're bad news and you're gonna have a bad time if you risk it." In other words, maybe ASUS is the venereal disease of companies? 😅

too bad im now boycotting ASUS due to their shady CS and RMA practices. Sad because I have the x570 ROG formula motherboard and really liked it. My AM5 platform will be built in 4-6 months and im budgeting 4.5k usd, and ASUS wont see a single penny, neither will corsair.

They might make some good products, yes. But it's a crapshoot whether you actually get support when something goes wrong.
