I love that Onigina is reconnecting Rockem with Philippine culture especially since she who spent time in foster care a child.
I love the chemistry between these two, one not fawning over the other and not afraid to have a difference of opinion. I don't recall ever seeing so many Boots from a design challenge, maybe that's a hint that actual floral design challenges aren't that easy to pull off.
I really like these two together reviewing. They’re REALLY doing fashion review constructively 🙌 I can’t wait until they get to GiGi Era’s episode 3 lol

I have to give a huge shout out to the girls forgiving a clear and honest review. They're not being hurtful in any way but also not being wishy-washy. They really are doing an amazing job. I hope they bring them back every season.
WOW made the right decision in putting these 2 together. Even if Ongina didn't get to be one of the judges, she deserves to be a part of this journey.

I was even so amaze at Misis Viñas Deluxe that even though she tripped in the Runway but the fact that not even a single leaves or flowers in her garments fall off or get detached is so so amazing very polished and the construction of her dress is very well done, she deserves winning this episode

So basically "Sagala" is a parade. There are many kinds of sagala, for example:
Sagala ng birhen = virgin mary procession
Sagala ng mga bakla = gay parade
Sta Cruzan or Flores De Mayo are special kind of Sagala that is celebrated during the bloom where we crown a reyna elena. Correct me if im wrong.
So in summary, kinda like Midsommar without all the mushrooms and homicides. 🤣
Actually, "sagala" refers to the maiden in the parade (prusisyon in the vernacular).

To think that Viñas said she actually got worried that her design might look like a flower arrangement for a wake service but she won anyway makes me so happy for her. She also knows her body and how to flaunt it (I mean who else would have the audacity to have a towel as their entrance look?) like YASS VIÑAS GIVE US MID-SIZED QUEENS REPRESENTATION
Also Minty looks so effin beautiful! She looks like an anime character 😭 I wasn't that impressed in her "meet the queens" video but giving her the benefit of the doubt and see how she performs is the best choice I've made
I think it's really beautiful how Ongina can educate Rock/other Filipino/a/x people on our culture. As a Filipina Canadian, I grew up with a lot of internalized racism and have only started embracing my roots over the past 2 years. It's refreshing to see others be interested in decolonizing our minds and learning more about our origins.
Vinas DeLuxe outfit was well thought out.
Both judges were great. The looks not so much but that is half the fun of a design challenge
