Yeah, I use golden oak a lot on my stuff. It just looks better than the walnut.

Give Harvey a call for a new handwheel and if can't get the saw to 45 or 90 degrees you probably need to adjust the 45/90 degree stops on the tilt lead screw. It is in the manual under maintenance and calibration towards the end. What most likely happened was the stop on the tilt mechanism needed to be moved over and if tried to force it, the handwheel is brittle cast iron and can crack before it can overpower the 45 stop.

I sent them an email, the weird thing for me is ive cut 45s already. I'd say at least 6 times. It did occur to me that there would be a set screw of sorts. But I wouldn't expect it to have moved on me. But at the end of the day it is negligence on my part, so I may have to do the repair myself.

Great idea but the way you are using chop saw is too dangerous! There are lots of ways to cut small pieces safely! CZcams is full of dangerous woodworkers! You may be held liable if some newbie gets hurt following your instructions! Wood is very unpredictable! A small knot can cause injury! Thank you for your ideas though!!!

Riving knife is thicker than the blade kerf, that's why it's getting stuck 👍

Not quite. I should have recorded this, but it was out about 1/8th of an inch. The blade I got is the full kerf, same as my previous blade. I'm guessing whatever was affecting my saw from hitting 45, was pushing on that and bent it out of place.

You make me so nervous. You need to be more careful. I almost lost my hand making a pizza because I was screwing around and the dough roller grabbed my fingers and pulled my hand through the rollers. It ripped my fingers to shreds. Every thing on my fingers was gone just had the bones left. It took over 1,000 stitches and staples to put my hand back together. My hand has never been the same. Just think what those machines would do to your hands.

Cutting the triangle on the miter saw? Or the router part right after?
The router, that's actually disgusting. I agree, i was on a template kick, I had to make a couple more of these, I did not use the router.
For the triangle on the miter saw, I don't think I was actually in any danger the way I was doing it, if the triangle went. It was going towards the fence.
I only had 2 and a half fingers on it, downward pressure. And my entire palm was anchored on the side of the machine. So I wasn't getting pulled anywhere. I'm a lot more thoughtful and respectful of what the machine can do to me than it seems.
But thank you for looking out for me, I'll try to be more conscientious, don't want people worrying.
