Follow the SOP's, mixture fully rich on T/O is the SOP! Leaning on the roll is crazy! And I'm highly doubtful there's any performance benefit as elevations of runways are all low in Ireland (

It's hilarious to be able to tell the voices from EINC apart on the radio :D

Seeing someone verniering out the mixture on my take off run I'd want to have words with afterwards if not before. WTH... You're an air incident waiting to happen.

Hi Danharodian, Good spot! the reason for the mix coming out on takeoff is, it gets around an extra 50 rpm or more, That extra power can really make a difference to the take off roll. That's what the instructor was demonstrating. Sometimes the edit can obscure what's actually happening. apologies for that

@5:55 A tip … It’s best to stick to standard R/T terminology. Don’t use ‘thank you’ etc.
If and when you fly the big jets, and you start using ‘Non-Standard’ R/T within busy airspace eg London Centre, all you’ll do is look unprofessional, but worse still, you’ll block the frequency in what is a very busy piece of airspace.
If every big jet arriving at/departing from eg EGLL used non standard R/T, the frequencies would be a mess with clipped transmissions /pilots being ‘stepped on’ etc.
Acquire good professional habits from the beginning 👍🏻

Hi Cedarkey, I hear you and good advice. pleasantries are not totally off limits and most calls will begin with Good Morning, hello etc and finish with a short thank you, good day , cheers or words to that effect. this happens in pretty busy times. I think both controllers and pilots like to keep it as friendly as possible.
