Mar Mari Emmanuel is a hero. Christians are being attacked, and we need to defend against this. I agree with Bob that the pacifist route is misguided (as long as it is within the law). We have the right to fight for the protection of innocent life.

Many who address these actual Bible verses overlook that it is a matter of a slap on the right cheek. Most people are right-handed. If they want to hurt you, they will strike/slap with their right hand and then hit the left cheek, not the right. If they slap the right cheek, they slap with the outside of the hand (or they slap with their weakest hand) which shows even better that one does not strike to injure, but to humiliate. Not infrequently this is done with the desire to push forward a physical retaliation.
Matthew 5: 38-39: “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.”
As Christians, we should not care about people who try to humiliate or insult us. The trolls, the ones Bob so correctly asks the audience to overlook. If someone tries to insult you - ignore them. Let them make fools of themselves. Show that you are the adult in the situation. As Christians, we are allowed to defend ourselves with the necessary means if someone threatens our life or health.
