    "Hey Jeff!!" Next time you wana get more air under a vehicle, (not sayin it's safe) slackin your chains a lil so you can curl the bucket back I've done it, wrks wonders.
    You want safe?? Find a piece of angle iron strong enough to sit on top of the lift cylinders on the tractor, set it in there just in case you have a Hydro-line blow out (seen that too).

    Thats dangerous, you have a lot of faith in those backhoe hydraulics. Al it would take is a hydraulic line or check valve fail and would done. I do enjoy your videos very entertaining.

  • @BulletmanDoom
    @BulletmanDoom Před 10 lety +2

    I don't suppose there are check valves on that excavator and I see by the tyres it's probably overloaded so my question is; How do those safety chains stop the front loader bucket from coming crashing down if one of the hoses or a seal blows on the hydraulics? and for that matter a tyre bursts. Look how much it dropped from the start to the finish.

    Why was it back in the day some trucks had the signal lights on top of the fenders and some didn't? Was it a GVW thing?

    • @ElderlyIron
      @ElderlyIron  Před 9 lety

      DesertDigger1 I can only speculate that they ran basic cab and chassis off the line. Dealers/customers fitted them the rest of the way to order. Turn signals were options back in the day, and there were double and single contact housings made for the front park lights. Cheaper to add to the fenders? I never saw one with fender lights that didn't have an aftermarket turn signal switch.

    • @DesertDigger1
      @DesertDigger1 Před 9 lety

      That would certainly make sense, the "aftermarket turn signal switch",I remember the now on the old flat bed Chevy hay trucks we had on the farm. Thanks for the reply's and all the videos, really enjoy them.

      @@ElderlyIron I don't know exactly the word (I speak french); but there is a function on youtube which must be triggered and which allows everyone to translate your American speech into any language of the world [which is displayed at the bottom of the image].

    • @ElderlyIron

      Yes, that would be subtitles. Closed caption is for hearing impaired. I'm not sure, but I think it has to be manually typed into the video and then it can be translated. That's a LOT of time!
