Israel is already struggling to deal with Hamas, and Hezbollah's geographical advantage, larger number of fighters, and skilled snipers will make it a formidable opponent. Lebanon's terrain will also favor Hezbollah. Despite Israel's Defense Minister threatening to send Lebanon 'back to the Stone Age', he is now advocating in the US for ways to prevent the war, as Israel has more to lose than gain from a full-scale conflict with Hezbollah, including its ports, factories, nuclear power plants, and other critical infrastructure. The current Hezbollah is a different entity from the one in 2006.

Your analysis is so simplistic and doesn't even mention the wider picture which is the gradual expansion of a low level world war which started with the Syrian conflict and has now expanded into several areas of operation including neighbouring regions where US and the Western block plus it's subservient client states such as Israel, it's Arab allies, EU, Canada, UK etc are fighting the Axis of resistance involving Iraqi militia, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, Zainebiyoun Brigade (Pakistani Shia) Fatemiyoun Brigade (Afghan Shia) backed by Iran, who itself has deep political, economic and military backing from Russia and China. It should be noted that opportunistic governments such as Turkey's Erdogen and India's Modi are now changing their stances away from Western leanings by holding talks with Putin (Erdogon speaking with Putin in Astana and Modi's imminent visit to Moscow). It demonstrates both these partners are not long term trustworthy partners.

The chances of this happening are quite high but there is hope yet - Nasrallah's latest speech - about how Hezbollah's attacks on Israel have hurt Israel in many ways - to me - the timing of this shows he is looking for a way to "climb off the tree" - in other words - end the cycle of hostilities. Make no mistake - Hezbollah and Lebanon are also suffering and an all-out war with Israel - while extremely damaging to Israel - will be the end of Lebanon as a functioning state. Also - Nasrallah has said several times that the war between Israel and Hamas is a Palestinian issue. There is widespread criticism in Lebanon at Hezbollah. Israel too prefers a diplomatic settlement. Hopefully we see this come into fruition soon and then the chances of Israel firing off nukes is greatly lessened.
