Ribs on the Air Fryer/ Oven
You wanna prep your ribs by removing the membrane on the back with napkin.
Cut your ribs in portions to fit your air fryer
Season your ribs with your favorite all purpose seasoning or BBQ rub. Then wrap in foil and let marinate for at least 30 mins. I prefer over night.
Cook your ribs at 350 for 30 mins. 45 - 55 if you want more of a tender (Fall off the Bone) rib.
Remove from foil and cook for 15 mins at 350 degrees.
Apply some BBQ sauce on both sides of ribs and cook for another 6 mins to allow the sauce to thicken up. If you want more stickier ribs, do this part 2 times.
Enjoy!

Kirby.. those are so getting tried! The sound of kids being happy is a soundtrack I could listen to all day. ❤❤ Very thankful to you for sharing another technique, to still get a hint of what this wonderful community creates. Especially to me learning appreciation for your craft, at the other end of the world. Thank you.😊
Hi Mona,, my little angels will sing all day if I let them. They do not tire out for nothing lol. I appreciate that Mona, I love to cook. Learned mostly from my Mother, worked in the restaurant business for a bit. I always wanted to own my own restaurant. CZcams is fulfilling that dream. Maybe one day, but at least this way the world can try my food.
"Kids making memories " ... love that ... 😋
Thanks for the great video! I made these tonight and I have to say that they were some of the best ribs I’ve ever made. I did make a couple changes. I used baby back ribs, marinated them in hickory liquid smoke and generously in a St. Louis-style pork rub for an hour, after cooking them wrapped for 35 minutes at the 350 degrees I unwrapped them and immediately basted them in bbq sauce, and finally put them back in for 15 minutes more (basting in more bbq sauce in 5 minute intervals). I like my ribs to have more of a char on them, so for the last 5 minutes I turned the heat up to 370. They came out perfectly broiled and incredibly juicy. The liquid smoke actually permeated the ribs and they tasted like they came right out of a smoker. Other than not having a smoke ring, I honestly believe that you wouldn’t be able to taste the difference between these and genuine smoked ribs. So delicious!
All it is is a small convection oven. Just convenient, heats up amazingly fast and easy to clean. Nothing more. But I like mine.
I used a smaller Nuwave Brio (6 qt) following your schedule and temps. For no apparent reason Nuwave did not include a Ribs recipe in the "Owner's Manual and & Complete Recipe Book" which comes with the air fryer. Thank you Kirby. Our state is under COVID-19 lockdown. Your videos are helping launch a new generation of competent chefs.
Pulling off the membrane is a must on pork ribs! Try not pulling the membrane off on beef ribs though, it helps hold them together.
Never would’ve though about doing the pork ribs in the air fryer, nice idea.
Looks awesome as usual Kirby!
I've been taking the back skin off of my ribs for years let me tell you the easy way to do it and start on the top and use a paper towel , get a good grip on it and just pull it back comes up really easy.
Love that background music as well as the ribs! Thanks for the video.
I'm treating myself to an AIR FRYER. THOSE RIBS LOOK DELICIOUS.
That was a dang fast cook for ribs!! you can't beat that. total time was less than an hour. awesome cook bro!
The foil wrap is what speeds things up. I'm a hot and fast type of guy lol. Your ribs looked good also. Thank you James.
I made this after viewing the video and the ribs were delicious. I cooked 2-3/4 lb baby back ribs and they were the best I ever ate. They were tender after the first 40 minutes and were beautiful looking after putting on the barbecue sauce and cooking another 6 minutes. Awesome!!!
That sounds yummy Elizabeth, I haven't had ribs in a while. I think I feel like some this weekend.
You need some Rootboy Rub #2. Also, you might get some sauce! Stay Tuned!
I'm drooling again & it's Santa Kirby's fault....You are fast becoming the Air Cooking King!!
Kirby thank you for this video man, I made the ribs and they were a hit. We just got our air fryer and your videos are really helping us get the most out of this product. Thanks again -Jesus
I truly appreciate that Jesus and thank you. I am glad to get some good feedback, and hope my videos serve you well. I definitely have some new ideas coming, I hope you enjoy them. Happy cooking Jesus.
Well, I’m a bad cook, but I followed this to the bone and I had excellent results. Thank you very very much mate.
Glad to hear, thats my goal in all of this. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you Elpa. Be safe my friend.
Thanks for this quick recipe! I cant wait to try it! And you never need to apologize for your babies, but I did love the way you put it, making memories! #Classic! 😍
Hi Gemini 63, That comes from my mother, I used to complain the mess my little ones would make. My Mother said, enjoy it, they are making memories. Those little girls are my life. I hope you enjoy the recipe, it is super simple to do and I hope you enjoy your air fryer as much as I do. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving to come, be blessed.
new scrb i live in snow country my smoker in the shed for winter the old lady is going to town tomarow i ame going to do this nevre thought air fryer looked great thanks
Nice change of pace from smoking them
It surprised me actually how good they came out. Thank you Lyle.
@@CookingwithKirby gotta try this...I'm a rib fanatic
Thank you, for taking the time and sharing. Perfect idea for this 4th of July. Indoor Bbq, away from the heat😊
I hope you have a great 4th of July Laura.
Thank you Kirby in 2020. I tried these and they were delicious in my Nuwave!
I am glad to share some tips, my kids loved these. It really cut down time and had them plated in just little over an hour. Thank you!
Very nice. Didn’t know u could do that with a air fryer so I learned something today. I thank u for sharing.
Hi Erica, ribs come out nice in the air fryer. You can have them done in an hour. Let me know if you make them. Thank you
Thanks so much for the demo. I am going to make it on Super Bowl Sunday next week.
I just bought an air fryer from Costco last week and bought some ribs. I will be doing this today. Thank you for the recipe. Really appreciate it and just subscribe to channel. Keep doing more brother.
I hope you enjoy the recipe Tony, they come out really good. The air fryer does a good job at crisping up food. The ribs were awesome. Let me know how they come out. Thank you
Just started watching the videos on your receipts and looking for salmon and trout do having any. But thanks for the tips. Peace.
Looked so good we had to try them today. I used my homemade rub and sauce and I will let you know how they turn out!
I hope you enjoy it, my family and I enjoyed this meal. The air fryer did a really good job at making it.
I agree. I have been watching you as well. I have been doing Ribs in my NuWave Brio 10Q, but never like this. They came out great. I am doing the lollipop drum sticks later. You keep them coming.
Try it like this Karuso, they were really tender. But the part I liked, the air fryer crisped up the ribs nicely. Lollipop drumsticks come out good in the brio as well. I hope you have a great weekend brotha.
I know this will sound bullshit, but if you take a phillips screwdriver, work it under that membrane at the bone end, you can lift it up enough to get your finger under the membrane and pull it off, usually in one big chunk!!! Your end product looks very good!!! and Thanks for the video!!!
Thank you Dave, ya I use a spoon the same way. Funny how things just dont go easy when I turn the camera on. I reversed the process on how I would do it on the grill. You can have these done in an hour easily. Let me know what you think when you give it a try. I hope your having a great weekend my friend!
You could always add a little liquid smoke before the rub and it does add flavor.
Yes you can, liquid smoke is a good option.
That looks great man! Sweet baby ray bbq sauce is king in my area! Lol
Great video thanks for sharing that awesome recipe!😂
Yeah bro you did that. I subscribed because you was soo smooth. One love homie
I put evoo on them no coating and flipped them and put oil on the other side not one little crunch lol I’m a 60s kid
Very well done, I’m looking forward to cooking my beef ribs😋👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!
Well this is definatly another way to cook some ribs....I have a hard time tearing myself away from the bbq pit though...But in a pinch these will work for sure...👍👍
Thank you Mikey!
Love this from the Netherlands...just bought me an airfryer ❤️
Pork Shoulder is usually cheaper and you don't have to take off the silverskin. Presentation isn't as good though.
Hi Robert, I just found how to do pulled pork in the air fryer. Ill be doing a video on pork shoulder for some bbq pulled pork. I have done some country style ribs, they came out great. Like you said no silverskin and cheaper, but still juicy and delicious. When it all ends on a plate packed with some good food, presentation all goes away. You just wanna dig in 😋 Thank you Robert!
@@CookingwithKirby Sounds good man. Need to explore all the options.
My wife wants to try this, and obviously so do I. Great video.
add some liquid smoke for the grilled taste!
best looking ribs out an air fryer ive seen
Thank you Dave, just reversed the process on how I would do it on the grill. They came out great though. I hope you give it a try.
I am pretty surprised you can do that on the air fryer. That was cool. Good job Kirby.
I have to make a few racks of ribs next week for a gathering myself.
@7:25, maybe you have the toast rack, that you can use to hold them upright?
That rack is too small, I would have to break some of the sections just to fit a rib in there. It would be cool to have a 4 prong holder for ribs.
@@CookingwithKirby I have one still in the box, I have to check it out.
LOL never heard the membrane refered to as "Silver Skin" ....but I'm down with it. Can't wait to try this in my air fryer!! Eso!!!
Ya I stumble my words on camera a lot brotha. The ribs came out good and quick. I hope you enjoy them, thank you. Have a great weekend and be safe.
@@CookingwithKirby hey bro....tried the air fryer ribs. Got pretty close to fall off the bone. Think I just to tweak the time and temp a little. Thanks for turning me on this.
Glad to hear brotha.
Wow great job and such a fun video.
Looks great Kirby! It's funny to think of it like a little oven, but it's very true. Ya done good brother!
OH KIRBY, MY MAN
I am glad to have shared a wonderful meal with you Julie. Next time you make the rub, add additional things to make it better. Thats how I learned to develop my BBQ rub. Its so easy to make and saves you a lot of money on seasonings.
A must try for Christmas dinner this year
How did they come out if you tried them? My kids loved them. let me know and Thank you.
@@CookingwithKirby omg they were awsome...they didn't last a whole day lol
Thanks for sharing I've been wanting to see someone do ribs and you did an entire slab... looked good
Thank you L Britton, these ribs did come out really good. If you want more of a tender rib, leave them in the foil a bit longer. But over all a great recipe. I hope you enjoy it!
@@CookingwithKirby will do that and thanks for sharing and the tip.
That's a damm nice fryer. Subbed
Good job indeed. I kinda did it the same way by trial-and-error this is perfect.
Thank you Stephan, I just reversed my process on how I do it on the grill. I like tender ribs, so I figured wrapping first and letting it cook in the foil will help that happen a bit faster. Then unwrap and let the air fryer do its magic on the meat, which it does really well. They came out great, and it was easy to do. I hope you have a great weekend Stephen and enjoy you some lip smackin ribs!
@@CookingwithKirby That is great indeed I got another one for you I cook my ribs in my insta pots pressure cooker and then I put it in the air fryer for that magic I'm talking about super duper tinder and then nice and crispy crisp . I'm gonna subscribe to your paige so I can see how we keep doing things. I'm not a vegetarian so this is perfect for me keep up the good work brother
That instant pot and air fryer is a great technique. I have both and might just put that on video. How long did you pressure cook the ribs for? Thank you Stephen, I truly appreciate it. I do a little bit of everything. Outdoor and kitchen cooking, I hope some of my videos are of help.
@@CookingwithKirby I used a full rack of ribs and cut off the top part of the ribs tips and cooked that as well. I put the setting on for 36 min. I kept the rack in there so it would not touch the water. I might have some pictures on my phone I will look for it if so I will send it
love that bbq rub! Can you please make bbq sauce that is to your liking and steak sauce?
Hi Jesse, I made bbq sauce from scratch in this video www.cookingwithkirby.com/post/bbq-chicken-wings
When I make bbq sauce depending how I am feeling, sweet or spicy, I just add more of those ingredients to get what I am looking for. Its really easy and fun to play around with.
Steak sauce I just eye ketchup, Worchestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder salt and pepper.
Hey Kirby. How about for example smoking the ribs for 3 hours and then finish them off in the air fryer ? Could also be a good way to prepare the day before you have a heap of visitors. In other words, do the smoking the day before and do the finish on the day when the visitors arrive. Thoughts ?
Hey Steve, you can if that is the process you want to take. If I touch my grill, I would just cook them on there. There is nothing wrong giving it a cold smoke before the cook.
Kirby those ribs look lip smacking good.I love doing ribs in the air fryer.Keep up the good work.I have to make me some today .
They were delicious Cynthia. Thank you! I wish you a Merry Christmas!
Kirby
Air fryer ribs. Excellent choice for a video they looked delicious
Thank you Mike, my little oven did a good job on it.
Looking good Kirby! Yummy ribs😊Thanks for sharing!
These are a good one, my kids loved the ribs. They were nice and tender and were done in an hour. I hope your having a great weekend, thank you Anna.
Hey can you introduce me to this Air Fryer you working with? I never seen one like this.
Just ordered my air fryer cant wait
I hope you enjoy it, air fryers are pretty fun to use. I enjoy using mine.
Looks great Kirb.
Ribs can be cooked in many ways for sure. This was a good way :)
Thank you Lasse.
“Excuse my kids they in the back making memories” 😂😂😂 yes good dad !!!
Hehe, my kids sure do find something to play with no matter where they are. Thank you Violet, they mean the world to me.
Are there any recipes for the Emerial Lagasse air fryer 360 xl
I am sure you can use any of my recipes for that air fryer. All of my recipes show time and temps, which should work all across the board. Times may differ, just make sure they are fulled cooked to the doneness you are looking for.
Looks delicious
Yum!! Thank you
I love ribs! Might make some tonight! If you don’t mind I’d like to give some advice! Haha! Really? Really! It’s awesome to cook with foil, but I would suggest strongly to wrap your food in parchment paper and then foil. The foil can leach into the food. It causes lots of problems. They’ve found Alzheimer’s disease patients have a lot of aluminum in their brains. Wrapping in parchment paper protects from that leaching into the foods. Just keeps it safer! My lecture for the day! 😂😂😂. From one of your biggest fans! Keep on keeping on! 🤙🏻💕
I have read that before. Thank you for the advice, I'll look into it. I would have to test the parchment paper in the air fryer. Thank you
I’ve used parchment paper in the oven and it works great. I’ve wrapped things in parchment and then in foil and have no problems. But, anyway, yeah, thought I’d mention it! 💕👍🏻
Linda Cake that is interesting to know I use to wonder when using foil they color it turns in places if it could cause harm to a person thanks for that useful tip
Naughty by nature You’re welcome!! Some tomato based things makes the foil dissolve and it goes in our food! EEEK! 😂 so, no more for me!
LOOKS GOOD
Hi Stephanie, it was a good experiment. I wish it had a little more space to fit them properly, but I got it done. They came out great though. One thing I like is it was much faster in the air fryer compared to the oven.
Looks great!!! I would like you to do a video of a prime rib in this Air Fryer
Thank you Tamara, I will write that down for a future video. Ya liquid smoke is a good option, I have never been a fan of it. But definitely is a good option to add that smokey flavor to the ribs.
hello my name is Darlene I'm new to your channel and I love your channel those ribs looks delicious I have to make them thank you for sharing
Easily removed (skin) slit across then grip it with a paper towel..Holds the skin firmly.
Ya I dont know why I had such a hard time removing the skin off. It had a lot of cuts in it and I just couldn't get a hold of the skin. Thank you Dan!
KIRBY!! Making me hungry lol..Thanks for sharing fam 👌
Haha sorry Sheshe, thank you!
Look so delicious KIRBY, thank you !! Great video
Thank you Linda, those ribs sure did come out well and it was much easier. I hope you enjoy them if you make them. Have a blessed rest of your week Linda!
They look really good
Looks delish! I may have to get an air fryer!
Hi Audrey, you can do them in the oven also. Just how I wrote this recipe in the description, you can do the same in the oven. Plus you will get more space. I just prefer the air fryer because it doesn't get my house hot.
I still think you should have Chad whip you up some lip smackin ribs on that beautiful grill he has. Thank you Audrey, I hope you and the family have a great weekend.
Literally drooling lol
This looks incredible
Thank you RML 3000
I preheat also for about 10 minutes
Those look delicious Kirby 😋
Thank you Ann, they were great and easy to do. I hope you have a great weekend Ann!
Definitely finger licking good. Thank you and you and your family have a great weekend as well 😊
Kirby need your help my wings cook completely but they are not crispy I sprayed them cooked them shook them sprayed again but not crispy where am I going wrong help
Hey Naughty by Nature, love the name, I am a 80's kid. What is the temp you are cooking at and time? On mine I cook at 380 degrees for 24 mins, flipping every 8 mins if battered. If not battered, only once after 8 mins just so the skin doesn't stick to the grate. I also preheat my air fryer before cooking. I don't apply a spray of oil until after flipping if it is battered also. Let me know, I would like to help figure this out. The air fryer should crisp up wings really well, and I have done many wings in both my 3 and 10 quart.
Top notch my friend! Looks tasty as hell brother!
Thanks Brotha!
Nice looking ribs I got 2 try this on my airfryer
Is it set to air fry or bake?
Great video Kirby.
Thank you Carol!
Kirby, can you please share your pork rib rub recipe?
Hi Belinda, here is the video czcams.com/video/OroxhTMdwag/video.html . You can add additional ingredients to twist up the flavor. I even take dried spices and crush them up to put in the rub also. I love making seasonings, it allows you to customize your flavor and its fun and delicious. I hope you enjoy it and sparks some interest in the kitchen. Thank you Belinda!
got this machine got to use mine i usually use my 6 quART AND COOK THEM IN A ALUMIUM PAN
Thanks for the tip on the aluminum pan. Ill have to try it. The 10 quart is really good. Its done me good all year.
Thank you for the recipe!
You are welcome Adam, it surprised me how good they came out in the air fryer. I just reversed the process on how I would do it on the grill. I hope you enjoy it. Have a safe and Happy New Years!
That ain't bad at all Kirby! I have baked ribs a time or two a long time ago, they're pretty good. Great job brother!
New subbie! Looks great
These honestly were easier to make them in the air fryer then the grill. They came out great, I hope you enjoy the recipe Lisa. Thank you and be please be safe out there.
@@CookingwithKirby I definitely will be trying them out. I'm trying to stay safe as possible. Blessings to you and yours.
I kind of like the name also but I cooked them on 400 20 on one side and 15 on the other
Ya that doesn't sound right Naughty by Nature, I would contact the manufacturer or go back to the store where you bought if you can. Try to replace it, it seems defective. Those times at 400 degrees would have a well over cooked wing. What brand and model do you have?
Looks awesome
Run hot water over the ribs and the silver skin comes of easyer.
How can you cook ribs with no smoke
then why are you watching basically an oven recipe? If smoke is so important to you, cook your ribs the the grill dude.
Kirby where did you get your air fryer from and what's the name? I haven't seen one like that.
Hi Eadie, it the Nuwave bro 10 qt. I bought it on Amazon a year and half ago for 150 bucks. Now I think you can get it for $99. I would look up the nuwave oven, it much bigger.
Looking fantastic! 😊 💗
Suggestion: I’m thinking about doing this. Smoke um for 3 hours then Air fry them. Your welcome
Sorry MeatCranium. I just made the same suggestion , then I read yours. Looks like we are on the same idea though!
Suggestion: I’m thinking about doing this. Smoke um for 3 hours then Air fry them. Your welcome 👍🏼💪🏼🇺🇸
i was thinking about that as well!! maybe even a cold smoke to get some smoke on them! then air fry them.
What’s the difference between oilless fryer and an air fryer
when they say Oilless, thats just their marketing strategy. All air fryers do not use oil, its just an air fryer. I would definitely take it back and try to get a different one. That definitely does not make sense for it being a small one to take that long to cook. It happens, I have been in that boat with appliances. I had that same issue with a Brand new gas dryer, I hope you can get it squared away.
Thank you I definitely will be taking it back next week
Great video will be watching the barbecue rub I like the size of your air fryer that's great I bought the Ninja 2 faircourt it's just me and my husband but if there was more than two of us I definitely would have got that air fryer brio I was looking at that one that was my first choice.
Hi Ruth, ya not sure why those ribs were giving me such a hard time. I really never have that problem, it had a bunch of slices in that back. I have a family of 5 so I need the space. I enjoy it, and has done well for me. Ninja I hear is a great product, I have been looking at that brand and the Phillip's. Thank you Ruth, I hope you enjoy the recipe and have a wonderful weekend.
@@CookingwithKirby , hey Kirby I cooked baby back ribs for the first time in the air fryer a couple days ago and it didn't come out tender. I even slow cooked them wrapped in aluminum foil for about an 1hr 45 at 225 in my oven, then put them in the air fryer for an additional 20 mins or so unwrapped around 330 in the air fryer. They came out tough and not tender at all but at least it was a test trial. However, please don't judge me but since it was my first time I now realize I didn't remove the film on the back of the ribs smh. It didn't dawn on me until watching this video. I wonder if that affected the way it came out as well. Any suggestions on how to make them fall off the bone tender in the air fryer? I have the Faberware 6 quart XL which is really good so I don't understand what happened, thanks for your help!
@@vibeslivechicago6003 How is it goin? I see the temp for 1 hr 45 mins a bit low. For 1 hr 45 mins, I would like a temp of 275 to 300. I cook ribs on the grill at 275, so that is how long I cook them before I wrap. How I did it in the air fryer, I reversed the process with wrap first to tenderize them. Try upping the temp next time, wrapped I would check them in after an hour and see how tender they are. Cook more if desired more tenderness. 225 is a bit low for the time. I cook ribs on the grill at 250 for 3 hours then 1 hr wrapped. I hope that helps, let me know how they come out next time.
@@CookingwithKirby , ok that makes sense I will definitely try that and let you know how they came out. Thanks man for the quick reply you rock!
You are welcome Stephen.
Looks bomb bro. Wheres da ring lol. Much love g!!!
Look delicious.
Hi Tina, they came out great. My kids love the ribs in the air fryer. I hope you enjoy the recipe, it is super easy.
What did u cook with em?! Or what do u suggest
Hi Larrice, I believe I made mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and cole slaw that day. But that doesn't limit you to corn on the cob, baked bbq beans, rice, potato salad, mac salad. I like to change it up when I make bbq, that way its not the same thing everytime.
Cooking with Kirby omg yes potato salad n corn on the Cobb bomb 😋ok cool I was just curious. Btw I didn’t even think to put any ribs in the air fryer until I came across your video. Thankyou so much.
Looks good man, I will check out your BBQ rub too... 🐻👍
Ribs look really delicious!! Do you have any trouble cleaning the fan in the lid. I was considering buying a 10 qt. Nuwave and was wondering how easy it was to clean.
Hey Beulah, the cleaning is pretty easy since you have access to the top of the heating element. I clean the top portion with soap and water often. Mostly with a rag, the heating element section I just wipe off. A bit hard to clean up good, I dont want liquid to get in there. Thank you, these ribs came out great and very easy and fast.
Slick !
It’s the Farberware oilless fryer model # 554023059
