- Welcome to Niche: A Genetics Survival Game! The newest update has unfortunately rendered our old save files incompatible - so in order to explore the game further, we need to revisit our two founders, Adam and Eve! This time the pair spawns on a sprawling island split between grasslands and savannas, though food is once again a prominent concern as their pack continues to grow.

Niche is a turn-based strategy game in which you're tasked with managing a tribe of creatures and ensuring their survival. Through the discovery of specific genes and mutations, you're given the chance to evolve your species over time, and help them overcome the dangers in their land. Watch out for hungry carnivores lurking in the tall grass, and keep your food supply strong to feed all of those tiny mouths!

Really the only thing that's bothering me is that she KNOWS the bunnies move, and instead of grabbing it the moment it appears she just keeps talking, despite the food shortage. ... Really? I'm sitting here growling at my monitor "Bunny! Bunny!" and her mouse hovers and hovers over it, she does other things and talk about doing it but doesn't do it and I am freaking out. xD And then the last one was actually GONE. And I am just sitting here like "Are you kidding meeeee." I swear out of all Niche LPs this is my favorite, she remembers her creatures names, she carefully picks traits (However, if she doesn't want the no-paw maybe she should pick the fast-legs over the big nose, maybe change it before every breeding to suit the needs of the two creatures she combines? Dunno.), and she seems to enjoy the game SO MUCH it's really darling and makes watching incredibly enjoyable, she seems really attached to her creatures and it makes me happy. But this bunny habit of grabbing something only after talking for about 7 seconds or longer is so stressful! xD I'm gonna burst a vein one of these days.
Anyway despite my rambling I really love this LP and can't wait for the next part! Thank you for uploading!
Honestly taking a hit from hunger maybe worth it to get more food instead of just getting one from the berry and missing the bunny. I personally feel the risk is worth it.

+JessiMew I think making it anameme made it so that this new pack will have future drought just like the first.
I think that's a balancing act by the game actually. The point of the game is to get niches, all sitting and farming berries seems like an obvious break to the game, even in early access. If they bother to make special attributes to berry farming, hunting, fighting, and exploration.....sitting and having them all berry farm seems counter productive.

That was definitely me when I loaded up the game right after the update. XD So disappointed that we have so little closure on the old pack... but I'm really enjoying the new one so far. :D Hope all of you are, too!

I recently found your videos of this game and I'm very impressed with your skill and abilities with this game. Seems like most players of this on CZcams aren't very good, haha! Sad to see Anameme gone, she was my favorite, but maybe you'll be able to find a way around the blind eyes this time.

Ugh. This game seriously gives you the shit end of the stick many times though, to be fair. How the game starts you off and what it provides you honestly plays just as big a role as how you play. Which is, of course, realistic.

I think it would be really easy to write a book based on the Niche creatures's survival. I will also say that part of the engagement is a Warrior's-esque connection to the individual creatures.

I could see this game doing really well on mobile platforms, it's really interesting in a truly unique way.

It is! :D The bigger islands have so much potential, and it seems like they have some interesting plans for all of those underwater tiles~
JessiMew having a mermaid type of creature pack would be cool or something with fins
Fins would be excellent! I would love to have the ability to swim around to all of those islands in the future - and I'm sure they'd look neat on the little critters, too. :D

it seems like the big nose trait and the poison fang trait are mutually exclusive, so if you want to keep the poison fangs in the gene pool, you probably need to remove the big nose trait from your 10% increase :)
love this game, its been so well designed and i love the basic idea of a game based on gene hereditary. I havent seen any other game that uses this idea, please keep the videos comming :)

Hey Jessimew, here's some advice for the well being of the herd: 1. Breed Adam and Eve until you get a baby with out the No Paw, if its a boy breed it with Eve. Then breed it with others. Never breed the no paw gene creatures!2. Try to breed the poison fang gene in with the method above.All your creatures have No Paw except Eve, so I suggest you breed her constantly until you get a Running Legs baby. Also, it'd be cool to keep the stripes in the herd, breed Adam and the green eyed ram horn striped one!
I like how blind eyes has 2 buffs and 1 debuff , +2 hearing , 0 sight and +1 smelling

My favorite mutate is the Barry paw and the poison fangs it makes them really strong for gathering and fighting

I would’ve tried breeding the crippled paw out as soon as possible by adding the runners leg in both mutation slots at first
