    Looks like the adjustable frequencies on an entry level detector make a huge impact on depth! You sold me. I'm buying a couple of those x terra pros for my wife and kids.
    I also enjoy the adjustable tones and sounds so sweet.
    The other one sounds like somebody is stepping on a duck.

    Another good video from calabash .
    Judging by what I've seen of the terra pro over the few videos that calabash has put up I'd pick the minelab.
    It seems deeper and seems to separate better in iron I like the look of that unit and just as important I also like the superior sound .
    Minelab have really upped the anti on entry level detectors not by a bit but by alot

      The downside of my vanquish 440 is that the box is not waterproof--the coil and the shaft are. But I don’t detect when it’s pouring rain, nor do I go diving with it. But I do like the simultaneous multi frequency and the start up and go without having to ground balance. What type of soil conditions you have in your particular area is also a huge difference on depth. Target separation is also a factor…say if there was 2 rusty nails next to that merc. I’ve hit lots of goodies with the vanquish. But that xterra pro looks intriguing. But I think my net machine will either be a legend or an xp

      If nokta could update the simplex to softer tones it would make it more enjoyable to use.
      Three years down the road I still hate the tones but it's not about tones or depth, it's about understanding what is saying. I dig far less trash with it than the vanquish ( which I have now sold as it feels and built like a Chinese cheapo ) as it gives too many good signals on trash. Nice machine (440) to use though, but as ugly as my mother in law!

      That "depth audio" mode is similar to gold mode and other modes on other machines. It's actually a far under rated mode since you can discriminate targets based on audio volume alone. I have a similar tone option on my NM Kruzer in Deep mode and it's my go to mode. Once you get used to it it's killer even in parks. The shallow and large stuff is loud, the older deep and smaller stuff is quiet. I love it. You can do this on other machines to some degree if they have an audio response adjustment as well but I find it far more responsive and useful than even the sweet regular tones on the minelab or any other machines until you get into 50, 90 or all tones which help a lot as well.

    Would be interesting to see if the machine starts falsing on deep iron like the Manticore with those deep settings. Also would like to see how it compares to the original nox vs 10khz on deep silver. My guess is very little difference as I’m inclined to believe it’s essentially the same machine without multi freq enabled. Minelab has just charged us more for the last 5-6 years and they dropped the price to compete with Nokta. Good time to buy a entry level machine these days! Getting incredible performance

    • @jimmyberubelevesque2557
      @jimmyberubelevesque2557 Před rokem +2

      Yeah I agree.. And it's easy to charge too much when you have the monopoly. Nokta succeed in shaking the market and forcing the competitors to adjust their way of doing things "a little bit".. When a company sits on the fact that their customers will always pay an unjustified/unfair price just because they have no other comparable options because of the monopoly.. It's not good and . As we say, competition is good for customers and it's always good that rival companies competes with each others.

      I think you hit the nail on the head but I would go a little further and say that beach one mode is definitely NOT a single frequency mode...sorry. Can you imagine the people that just paid well over $1,000 for a multi frequency machine only to have them release a machine for $270 that basically does the same thing? They would go ballistic. So they would have to market it as a single frequency only machine, meanwhile soundly trouncing the simplex market with a phenomenal beach machine. Great marketing plan minelab!

    Calling these entry level is debatable in function. They are mid range detectors at entry level prices. Especially the Minelab X-Terra Pro. I didn't even plan on buying a detector as I love the AT-Pro I've had for 12 or so years, but I couldn't pass on the X-Terra at 269.00. It's now my main detector and I also have a Whites XLT spectrum in the closet that was my main land machine. A 269.00 machine has replaced my 600.00 AT Pro and my 1000.00 Whites XLT.

    Oh one quick question, what happens when you turn on a pinpointer near both machines? We had a simplex, but it drove my wife nuts when she used her pinpointer. She would have to mute it, then she would forget to turn the volume back on and would miss out on a bunch of treasure. Hopefully Nokta changes that with their new simplex line.

    • @treasurefinder66
      @treasurefinder66 Před rokem +2

      Well the minelab will have a noise cancel so if you were in the same frequency or close to the same frequency as your pinpointer during a particular hunt you could just turn on your pin pointer and then do a noise cancel on the detector and that would pretty much eliminate that interference. But seeing how the simplex runs on 12 kilohertz and a lot of pinpointers especially the Garrett pro pointer runs on the same kilohertz that's why there's a lot of interference. So it looks like minelab hit a home run on this also.

Depending on what you get it could be up to $150 .oo dollars more . Add that to the price and it's around $ 420.oo Depending on what type of headphones. So that's creeping up near to the price of a legend 🤔. So . I'm definitely on the list for the new single frequency minelab anyway because it's waterproof and it's still a minelab. Almost to good to be true. . 🤔 so it's not quite that inexpensive. But definitely a good deal to grab foresure .

    The Simplex is still better right now. Who sells a metal detector without available headphones? Minelab. The Simplex comes with Bluetooth headphones for that price. The ML-85 which is the only Bluetooth headphones the X-Terra Pro works with, has not even been released for sale at this time. Even then, you will pay between 140-170 USD for the headphones, which will drive the X-Terra Pro up to over 400 USD.

      Minelab didn't invent the multi frequency. White DFX came out 23 years ago with a dual frequency detector well ahead of it's time and it could run on a single frequency in 3kHz or single frequency in 15kHz. Minelab has used other companies expired patented technology ever since it started. I find it funny how the so called "Giant" in the industry is now chasing after Makros single frequency??? Now that Makro has created and upgraded 2 new models of the Simplex is Minelab going to chase those next. I wasn't aware that a "beep" sound makes a machine better? I guess that's because it doesn't really now does it? SMH

      Nope what's the matter the truth hurts? It's funny how Minelab the Giant is going after a single frequency detector they are threatened by. I'm not a Makro "fan boy" by far but I don't like the dirty marketing Minelab has done over the years over charging people for one model to repair their last released problems. The Nox 700 and 900 is smoke and mirrors to deflect from large amount of problems that came back from the 600 and 800. Now they'll use money from sales from this marketing g nonsense to fund figuring out the Maticores serious falsing issue. Then their next model will fund what they didn't finish finalizing on this single frequency from rushing it to market. Got burned by a leaky Nox once I won't let Minelab take another dime from me. I should've learned 15 years ago when the Excalibre battery kept dieing and it took all summer to get that sent back. So when I see nonsense rumors spread like what you said about patents I finally had to speak up

      If being honest is salty then maybe more people need to be salty. All I did was tell the truth I'm sorry if it hurt your feelings. You're entitled to like what ever tones you like. We all are. All I tried to do was educate you with some facts so you don't help spread misinformation God knows the world has put up with enough of it. If you have some facts that show I'm wrong I would be more then happy to see them. No I'm not a loyal Makro user in fact I don't even have one, yet. But I'm familiar with Minelab and how they came to be and I haven't mentioned 25% of what I could. My father and my uncle both worked with detector companies in the 70's and he even built one of my first detectors in 1979 that was better then the Whites 4 DB Coinmaster which he bought me that was my first detector so I know a hell of a lot about how they operate. I've seen machines in the early days with function settings that did the same thing today under a different name. Ferro check is just like what the signagraph was. Reactivity is the same thing as a P.A.G. or Pre Amp Gain. Multiple Frequency wasn't even invented by any single detector company so Minelab can't sue anybody for patent infingements. Sure they can claim it as a marketing plot to cut the sales down from Makto but when it loses in court "if" it really goes to court then what? Then Makro can publish it and make Minelab look shady? You think that will go well for your King lol. Why did your King feel they had to build a single frequency detector against the Simplex? I don't really need an answer I was trying to help you wake up which I doubt will happen but how is Minelab now going to justify over charging their customers so much is a Simplex for $279 can hit targets nearly as deep as their CTX or Manticore that cost 5 times the price? They go a little deeper but not 5 times deeper. They can't even go twice as deep lol. Think a little before you speak. And this goes for Garrett's AT Maxx, Fishers F-75, even Teknetics T-2 is a very deep metal detector for a fraction of the price. But hey no problem you're entitled to over pay because you like their tones it's just music to your ears huh lol? Just buy a flute I'm sure you would be good at making those sweet whistle tones lol SMH sheeze
