      Probably one of the best I know is in Ordesa National Park or maybe the Cares gorge. But if you ask where we would love to go, I think that Gates of the Artic National Park are in the first place of my list. However if we are talking about long hikes Te Araroa, Pacific Crest Trail, Appalachian Trail and the Patagonia would be just really a dream.

      A great hike for you guys would be the so called "Malerweg" in the Saxonian Switzerland near my location in east Germany,
      which is sort of an "Artists path", 112 kilometers long, where hundreds of years ago artists did many paintings from the nature, which can be found in many books.
      Once I travelled along that route and made pictures from the same perspective like I saw in their paintings. I wanted to create a tiny book about it, but never made it due to my many other projects.
      But whenever in years our documentarys are finished, I invite you to the Malerweg and other nice sightseeings :)

      Not counting this trip. There are many hikes in the pacific northwest with ocean views. That is a breathtaking experience.
      Golden Gate National Recreation Area was a very memorable trip.

    Most remarkable thing I've experienced. Such an amazing hike. Ya'll must of gone right before my group did, late July and that last snowy part was still there but not quite as full as it is in this video. Pretty cool. Can't wait to go back.

      @ArtWeThereYet  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Oh how cool! Did you also catch it on a clear day? There weren't many this summer!

    • @cmbtking
      @cmbtking Před 8 měsíci +2

      Yes! Luckily we got a mid 60s and clear skies day. We kept getting told it was one of the first nice days of the year. It was perfect. We had perfect weather that entire week and from the sound of it, it was one of the only solid weeks of the year lol. Lucky!@@ArtWeThereYet

      @ArtWeThereYet  Před 8 měsíci

      Wooow! SUPER LUCKY!!! Congrats! We're jealous! The whole time we were in Seward over the summer, this was our one "slightly clear" day. Though the misty, mysterious weather worked really well for our Kenai Fjords tour!

    😍 This was almost too much for the mind to take in for one day. I was glad I hung back and spent time at top of the cliff. The wildlife started to come out of hiding as the crowd of people dissipated.

    • @burninoutloud
      @burninoutloud Před 8 měsíci +2

      @@ArtWeThereYet Yes! I saw 2 bears, an adult and a youngster, and later saw a wolf walking up the same hill. People that live there rarely spot a wolf 🙂 such a treat!

    Looks like you had fun on the Harding Ice Field hike. It's gorgeous on a sunny day and some salmonberries are on the way up.
    Looks like you have fun sliding down. Next time bring a trash bag or cardboard.

    That is the most amazing thing! I never even considered taking the skoolie to see glaciers, just was ambitious enough to plan on an Alaska trip. Seem to recall seeing an article on the red snow, it's a microscopic algae bloom, so eerie! Fantastic video, perfectly matched to music, so informative and interesting 👍 thank you 😊

      @ArtWeThereYet  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Oh man, definitely bring your skoolie all the way to Seward! Luis and Fefa even parked theirs right at the Exit Glacier trailhead! We left ours parked at the Exit Glacier Special Use area. Alaska is very skoolie friendly!

    The pink/red snow, commonly called watermelon snow, is due to the growth of an algae (Chlamydomonas nivalis)

    Great Video 🥰👍I have a question: what camera do you have and what settings do you use to film this landscape?😎

    • @ArtWeThereYet
      @ArtWeThereYet  Před měsícem +1

      Thank you! We usually use our GoPro and our iPhones,(we both have the iPhone 13pro).
      For the GoPro we use protune so we can control white balance and ISO manually and with the phones we use an app that is called Filmic Pro. With that app you have more option to get the most out the three lenses on the iPhone 13pro.
      We also have a canon 5d mark IV that we usually use for photography but some times we also shoot some scenes with it. The video quality with that camera is amazing, the only problem is that the video files are huge. So we don’t use it for videos that much.
      But using all these multiple cameras could be a paint in the but because the color profiles on each camera are different, so we spend a good chunk of time color grading the footage so that the colors look even through out the entire video.

    • @ArtWeThereYet
      @ArtWeThereYet  Před měsícem +1

      We recently upgraded to the Canon R5 and we are planing to use this camera as our main camera, that way we don’t have to spend too much time color grading the footage and the video quality will be much better!

    How long did it take you to complete the hike? We’re looking to hike the trail in several weeks, the first week of July

    • @ArtWeThereYet
      @ArtWeThereYet  Před měsícem

      We took about 8.5 hrs, but that’s cause we were stopping to film, taking breaks at each viewpoint, plus going a little slower because we had the little ones with us. All Trails says it’s about a 6hr hike, which sounds about right to us. If we were just hiking it (no filming, kiddos, etc), then that’s about what it would take. Enjoy it!!! Try to go on a clear day if you can (can be difficult in Seward, but they do happen!)
