    Presumably might be the prophets of olden times these real philosophers.

      Indeed, many philosophers and thinkers from ancient times, including the Stoics, have been compared to prophets due to their profound insights into human nature and morality. They sought to understand the world and human behavior, and their teachings continue to influence modern thought. Just like prophets, their wisdom has stood the test of time. 🌍📚

    Were there any skinny , bald , ugly , beardless stoics??

    • @StoicStarlight
      @StoicStarlight  Před 29 dny +1

      Absolutely! While the physical appearances of most Stoic philosophers are not well-documented, it’s important to note that Stoicism itself places little importance on physical attributes. Stoicism is a philosophy that emphasizes virtue, ethical conduct, and inner tranquility, regardless of external circumstances or personal appearance. 🏛️
      Famous Stoics include Zeno of Citium, Cleanthes, Chrysippus, Seneca, Epictetus, and Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Their teachings and philosophies have been influential throughout history, but their physical appearances, including whether they were skinny, bald, ugly, or beardless, are largely irrelevant to their philosophical contributions.
      Remember, Stoicism teaches us to focus on what we can control - our actions, our responses, and our attitudes - rather than things we cannot control, such as our physical appearance. So, whether a Stoic was skinny, bald, ugly, or beardless would not have been of significant concern to them. They would have focused more on living a virtuous life and achieving inner peace. ✨
