Kermit Test Reel

Every puppet builder working in the Henson tradition has to have a go at making Kermit. After literally years of research, and a lot of trial and error, here is my final version. Based on the pre-80's Kermit, with pilly fleece, floppy fingers and muted colour.
This was made to honour the legacy of Jim Henson and the hard work of everyone at The Muppets. I put my heart into this.

Yep, 4 inches at the hinge. Everything else scaled from that.

@@OperationPuppet nice! Great job. Just some interesting info for future Kermit builds. Steve whitmire told me the one he used was the smaller 3.5 mouthplate. That’s for the tighter fit and performance.

That makes a lot of sense. Jim had extremely long slender hands and in a Kermit scaled to that my wee hands float around, even with double thick fleece. I really should have worn a glove to perform him 😄
If I ever do another Kermit I’d do a half-body scaled to my hand 🤚
