Street Sharks is both JAWSOME and CONCEPTUALLY TERRIFYING

- STREET SHARKS is a jawsome animated series from the 90s that came into being because of the popularity of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. (And a desire for Mattel to sell toys.) But you know what? It holds up. In fact, I think the time is NOW for Mattel to ride their Barbie movie high right into a live-action reboot of Street Sharks.
So let’s talk about the Street Shark, recap the first three episodes, thirst over Dr. Robert Bolton, and imagine what a Street Sharks movie could look like.
This video took a longer-than-usual time to make because I included a lot of things - and because my full-time job is taking up waaaaaay more of my life than it should - hence the extended delay in posting.
Yes, neon yellow is not a flattering color on me. And it made the overall color balance weird sometimes. But that’s how COMMITTED I was to this outfit concept. (And it was too hot to wear a shark costume.)
By the way, I know there was a Hot Wheels cartoon in the 60s/70s that had characters - I vaguely referenced it near the beginning of the video. But no one remembers those characters. People think of Hot Wheels and they think of toy cars. So I think it’s a weird franchise for a movie.
Upcoming Videos:
-We don’t need the next live-action Disney Princess reboot. The perfect version already exists!
-Stargate: A surprising intersection of fanfic and canon.
I can't believe she would betray her faculty advisor like that
😆
It's like tusk for children. Nice 😊
I had the toys and still talk about this show from time to time to people that have never heard of it. This video is exactly what I needed.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! :)
This entire video is visionary. Now I'm excited for Mattel's live action adaptation.
great content as always
Thank you!!
Thank you so much for being you! You have inspired me to start a horror watching channel ❤❤
That's awesome!! ❤
Excellent video. Looking forward to more bizarre 80/90’s cartoons.
Thank you! :)
Another JAW-cellent video!
I was this show's target audience, but I liked the Bionic Six or Captain Planet better because at least there were girls in it.
I don’t think I ever saw Bionic Six! But Captain Planet is another classic that I’d love to see get a weird live-action movie.
Jawesome vid. Jawesome to the max. And kudos for resisting the urge to give Vin Diesel a name drop for the street sharks commercial, he gets too much credit for things that aren't The Iron Giant.👍
Vin Diesel has had a very varied career, lol.
My compliments to the lovely lady
Thank you! :)
Well I think its pretty clear pugmugsly has a type... anthropomorphic badass manimals.
Or in this case - their dad. 😆
@@PugMugsly damn I wish CZcams had something like the reddit /s.

Honestly what woman wouldn't fall for a Chad bearded professor who had four strong sons to raise on his own while pursuing his career in genetics?...
He's too good to be true- and that's what makes him so damn awesome.
Also this was the first time I ever heard of the term "DILF".
And that means something.
I remember once I watched a Mother of three in complete control of her little kids have a non-tantrum lunch at Costco a decade ago and she was a hyper sweet mother.
I was so mesmerized and in awe that when I and my wife and I got in the Car with our one baby she punched the hell out of me demanding why I was so enticed by that mother's presence....
So I get it. Lol.
I tried street sharks again four years ago, after my static shock rewatch 10/10 still, and I ended up more upset with young me than I'd did with master of disguise. It doesn't even hold up then.
I love you! Great content and awesome presentation!
Thank you! :)
the show is meant for kids, so bullets are not allowed, so they use laser guns
Probably the more logical answer!
Loved Street Sharks, Lowkey liked it more than TMNT. That and Road Rovers
I never heard of Road Rovers! I love when people mention cartoons I never heard of, and I get to Google them. They’re always wild.
I still have my Street Shark action figure from when I was a kid. Never saw the show, but a toy shark monster who wears a leather jacket, cowboy boots, and is shooting pool? Nothing could be cooler.
Well... nothing except a skateboarding dog wearing sunglasses could be cooler.
I would have loved to be in the room when the Mattel creative team was brainstorming Street Sharks and the action figures.
Thirst for first!
I remember watching this as a kid I think I had two of the sharks as action figures pretty much just chomping mouth action.
Chomping does seem to be their primary function!
Can somebody get Christina a glass of water? Damn. Just kidding. Show me a person who says they've never had a crush on a cartoon character and I will show you a liar. I have dated professors tho. They tend to be very charming but they also get bored easily. At any rate, I was hoping you'd mention the "gene slamming." It's so 90s. The 90s! Please rescue me from the 90s! Also, it's interesting that whenever animals mutate into their humanoid variations they instantly have the ability to speak perfect English. Even Tokka and Rahzar in TMNT 2 could say a few words somehow. The TMNT themselves took a while I guess but I still wonder how they learned English
“Gene slamming” is such a specifically perfect phrase. Genetic mutation? Lame. Too close to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But gene slamming? Exciting. Semi-violent. Amazing.
Hilarious review. Here’s hoping your view count is as high as the color saturation level of your outfit.
P.S. I thought you were going to say a “Street Sharks and Stargate crossover.” It’s like I don’t know anything about you.😢
Lol, thank you!! 😆

Hey!
My one year old son has that Hotwheel car! He loves his hotdog car car. 🌭 🚗
Glad to see the Street Wiener getting some love.
@@PugMugsly phrasing!
@pug mugsly I like your outfit Christina in this video hope things are going well with you and your family can't wait for your next video.
Thank you! :)
Vin Diesel hass to be in the movie!
I dig your April O'Neil get up.
I’m supposed to be Coop, but I love April O’Neil and appreciate any comparison!!
Human DNA = Long pig ? And supposedly tasty??
@pug mugsly street sharks would win they probably eat the collins.
Do biker mice.
I'm glad you made the Michael Bolton joke, because I can't hear you say the name, 'Bolton' so much and _NOT_ think of him, lol. Luckily it'll keep the _♪half shark/half man/fighting evil/that's the plan!_ lyric from infesting my brain, because thinking of Michael Bolton instead just puts _♪I can go the distance_ into my head automatically. 😄
Kudos on your "Official 90s Kid Uniform"™ btw. VERY authentic. I assume you're wearing cut off jeans and high tops off-camera to complete the look
Also, I gotta say, I'm VERY disappointed in CZcams's CG artists. I can't find so much as a single live action Street Sharks fan film _concept_ trailer. TMNT? Boy howdy; lots of impressive stuff there (for example: czcams.com/video/qcIeqpUhamk/video.html ). Street Sharks? Nada. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Finally, I feel like we're just a few vids away from you starting to live stream fan fic readings to your subs, lol. You mention them a lot and read them with so much enthusiasm - seems like it could be your calling if/when you decide to dabble in livestreams! 😄
I would love it if Michael Bolton did a slowed down, ballad version of the Street Sharks theme song. That's the dream.
There is definitely some "this is what a CGI Street Sharks movie would look like" fan art, but it is surprising that there wouldn't be fan-made concept trailers. I think a lot of people REMEMBER Street Sharks, but it hasn't maintained a position in the cultural zeitgeist. Which is a shame. Because it's so perfectly 90s, that even if you didn't watch it as a kid (which I didn't), you can still appreciate it's nostalgia factor as an adult. (Come on, Mattel! Get on a live-action movie reboot!)
I do remember owning one of the toys for this show I remember it was on for like 2 weeks or something then it was gone went back to watching Gargoyle lol it was be for Pokémon. @pug mugsly Hey Christina hope your doing good this video was edited pretty good good Job.
Gargoyles is another top notch cartoon though!
