If you have trouble taking notes while your teacher goes to the next slide, I recommend recording the lecture on voice notes! That way you can make sure nothing was missed. Just make sure your teacher is ok with it obvs
Theres actually a lot of truth in this… I do start taking notes almost immediately since I don’t want the slide to change before I finish or hold up the entire class- but I do read through the slide first and then shorten the slide to just include the main points and put anything else in my own words- I also put any super important concepts in a colored pen so that its easier to find and review while studying. Plus switching the pen makes me more conscious of what exactly Im writing. Lastly I add stuff to my notes as my teacher talks, since they often do a better job of explaining the topic in detail rather than the actual slide. Ive never been a very organized person so doing this seriously helped me improve as a student. It might seem like a pain in the ass (which it absolutely is) but believe me it’s worth it, especially if you’re going to have to take the ACT or another college test
When taking down notes, you don't need to copy literally every single word, just get the main points. Kind of similar to Emily, but instead she summarizes and rephrases which shows that she really understands her lessons more than Zack, because he only relies to the words in the lesson, not his own understanding.

As a straight A student I write down all of the slide (or at least the important points) and then in margin I write what it means in my own words. I also color code with pens and highlighters. Ultimately some methods are more conductive but at the end of the day it depends on the person and how they learn.
Great method. The only problem is Emily may not remember everything the teacher says, and the teacher may go so fast that not every topic mentioned has time to resonate with her.

The problem with this is that teachers and professors just goes too fast leaving little time to properly digest the information, what's worked for me personally I write down important details and elaborate on points in the notes that aren't too detailed, and when I read it again for studying purposes I then reorganize everything in my own words "In my head of course I don't straight up change the notes"
I just find it weird that apparently I am the only person who does this, but when I take notes I always write everything in huge detailed maps. For me it's just the easiest and most efficient way. •You can easily memorize their layout and study without getting tired. •Punctuation and verbs don't matter when you got arrows. •I can write faster since I don't need to worry about messing up the layout. •You can always add anything to a sentence and still keep the logical order

What I do is listen then go back and read the chapter through a couple times before an exam. I usually get between 85 to 90%. The questions I get wrong are usually because I'm going to fast because it's so exciting to finish an exam before everyone else. Always go slow and read the question and all the answers

this dosent work AT ALL in college btw unless you’re in an easy degree, teachers will cover the slide and automatically change it. They expect you to have already written notes. Thats why you record lectures, use apps with auto dictate, and take notes as the professor talks

You see, Zach doesnt finish the notes, Emily doesn't start them. You can rewrite the notes in your own words later, if you think during class you will miss something.
If you try to write down everything you will probably miss some of the lecture which is usually more important than the slides.

If you have trouble taking notes while your teacher goes to the next slide, I recommend recording the lecture on voice notes! That way you can make sure nothing was missed. Just make sure your teacher is ok with it obvs

Theres actually a lot of truth in this… I do start taking notes almost immediately since I don’t want the slide to change before I finish or hold up the entire class- but I do read through the slide first and then shorten the slide to just include the main points and put anything else in my own words- I also put any super important concepts in a colored pen so that its easier to find and review while studying. Plus switching the pen makes me more conscious of what exactly Im writing. Lastly I add stuff to my notes as my teacher talks, since they often do a better job of explaining the topic in detail rather than the actual slide. Ive never been a very organized person so doing this seriously helped me improve as a student. It might seem like a pain in the ass (which it absolutely is) but believe me it’s worth it, especially if you’re going to have to take the ACT or another college test

When taking down notes, you don't need to copy literally every single word, just get the main points. Kind of similar to Emily, but instead she summarizes and rephrases which shows that she really understands her lessons more than Zack, because he only relies to the words in the lesson, not his own understanding.

As a straight A student I write down all of the slide (or at least the important points) and then in margin I write what it means in my own words. I also color code with pens and highlighters. Ultimately some methods are more conductive but at the end of the day it depends on the person and how they learn.

The problem with this is that teachers and professors just goes too fast leaving little time to properly digest the information, what's worked for me personally I write down important details and elaborate on points in the notes that aren't too detailed, and when I read it again for studying purposes I then reorganize everything in my own words "In my head of course I don't straight up change the notes"

I just find it weird that apparently I am the only person who does this, but when I take notes I always write everything in huge detailed maps.
For me it's just the easiest and most efficient way.
•You can easily memorize their layout and study without getting tired.
•Punctuation and verbs don't matter when you got arrows.
•I can write faster since I don't need to worry about messing up the layout.
•You can always add anything to a sentence and still keep the logical order
In my head, if you're able to write down notes in your own words, you're basically telling yourself you know what you're being taught and you comprehended it pretty well 👍

I like doing both, when you are in class write down the points they make, what they say, and things you need to remember. When you get home copy it in your own words.
It actually helps me to listen while copying the exact notes. And have high grades. That's the way of my learning.

What I do is listen then go back and read the chapter through a couple times before an exam. I usually get between 85 to 90%. The questions I get wrong are usually because I'm going to fast because it's so exciting to finish an exam before everyone else. Always go slow and read the question and all the answers

this dosent work AT ALL in college btw unless you’re in an easy degree, teachers will cover the slide and automatically change it. They expect you to have already written notes. Thats why you record lectures, use apps with auto dictate, and take notes as the professor talks
