Grandkids are the conduit to the next generation. My kids will relay these stories from my Mom. Mom was born in 1921, she was 42 when I was adopted. (I am 58 and my kids are 27 and 29 )
Technically speaking my kids are young enough to make 4 generations. ( being my Moms Great grand kids) so hopefully these memories and stories will pass a little further!
They say that a person is only truly dead after their name is forgotten.... so go for it Grandkids, keep them alive!!

FelineNerdy. Same here. Just yesterday for me too. She reminded me of my grandmother who also cooked like Clara did during the depression. My grandmother would tell me stories in the kitchen as she was cooking and laugh as Clara did. She was a wonderful person. They learned to appreciate the small things in life. May she R.I.P 😇

Broken Brunette she grew up in the in one of if not the hardest and toughest periods in modern history. She’s a survivor and even though she went through that rough period she shows an unfettered and pure optimism she honestly was a very wholesome person and the world is missing such a gem like her may she Rest In Peace

We have this technology now... and my grandmother in law is 78... I keep asking if I can film her stories so I can have something to look back on and they never want to do it... so I'd have to secretly film and then it's not the same .... I love that clara did this ... I wonder if it was hard to convince her
this is so late, but while that tech may not have been around for your grandmother, it is for you! utilize it to recount life from your childhood to share with future generations.
I feel the same way, my grandmother died two years ago now, and she was like a second Mom to me in so many ways! We went to Europe together, and I hated flying but she always made me feel safe! I love her, and miss her more then I could ever say! She Loved our COUNTRY 🇺🇸 and taught us all to do the same! She was a Rosie the Riveter, during the WORLD war two, and she lost her hearing on one side ,so she made us talk to her good ear! I MISS YOU MY GRETA, that was the nick name I have her, because it has all the LETTERS used to spell GREAT, and she was absolutely the definition of Great!💙🦋🌷

This lady makes me tear up sooo much when I watch the calming , and grateful way she looks at her life. Clara has become my earthly calm in the storm right now. Over the last week of watching her, she has inspired me so much. I hope as I keep watching and rewatching her ( and reading her soon to be here book), that I may keep her words of wisdom and calming way in my heart through the tough times ( that are coming). When someone goes through as much as Clara did and wouldn't change a thing, that shows true value in her life and it's all a lesson us younger generation can't seem to do, just be happy with what we have.

I never wish for too much. Heck I live in a small room, no tv just a laptop. I don't even have a smartphone just a simple flip phone. I'm 33 years old and I'm happy with what I have in life.

Yeah, I recently started renting out a room, sort of like a flat, has a room, kitchen, small living room and bathroom, but I have to cross through the owners home to get to my area. Regardless, I love it. My rent is cheap, I have peace and quiet, and I love coming home. I used love going out so much, but now I just love having a comfortable bed and plenty of food in my fridge. Can't ask for much more than that and a stable job to pay the bills

I'm sorry she died but glad she was lucid and so philosophical to the end, just tired at the last years. I've really enjoyed being with "old people," hearing their stories, and I want to get right into their shops and kitchens and watch and help! My husband is well looked after with homecooked, frugal meals here in France -- it's better for my health, too! A bit hard to manage when I work but if I could even do it in NYC with a previous spouse, anyone can!

I love Clara's attitude so much! No matter what type of hardship you experience, if you try your hardest to stay positive and stick together, you can get through it. It's a great piece of advice that everyone should use. It helped my family get through and overcome depression, sickness, injuries, death, spousal abuse, car accidents, poverty, etc. I definitely hope it will help others.

Oh she's so cute and funny! Its great to see her enjoying the newfangled stuff. And giggling about the bloopers! Wish I could have been there. I noticed Clara had an owl cookie jar on her counter. I have one too that came from my gramma years ago when she passed. I too only had one child and I have 3 grandchildren-all teens now. Not a great gramma yet-but I am only 56 lol! I stumbled across Clara's CZcams channel just yesterday and after watching two episodes I found out she was no longer with us, I wept uncontrollably. 😢
As I watched this episode, I wept again... Happy tears. Thinking that she's in heaven watching all of us going through this pandemic, possibly another Great Depression, Clara wouldn't have to go through again. It’s Nov 2020 and I just discovered Clara! Such lousy times we’re going through, so before sleeping, I watch her videos to relax and feel good. She reminds me of my nanny. When I watch her videos, I always wished I was sitting in her kitchen. Sometimes I cry after watching a video-as if I’m saying farewell. Strange I know. Anyway she was such a funny and witty lady.

Natural foods are so important! I am convinced that many of the cancers etc today are caused by the foods we eat! It's unfortunate that it took me getting cancer before I decided to change my eating habits! Clara was a very wise lady and I'm trying some of her recipes!
Research everything, I have been researching everything, because cancer is in my family, and I refuse to do chemo of any kind! Because it's so damaging to you're immune system, it basically destroys it, and then DOCTORS WONDER WHY PEOPLE DIE! IODINE IS A KEY PLAYER, IN FIGHTING CANCER, AND NO SUGAR IT FEEDS CANCER AND MAKE'S IT GROW! Thank You for sharing your Nana. I enjoyed watching all of her videos. I could relate to many of the things she talked about. She is very much like my mom. I too came from Italy and traveled on the Saturna when I was only 4. Although, I didn't live through the depression, being an immigrant was difficult and my father too had a large garden, ate lots of veggies and many of the same dishes that Clara shared. When we came from abroad we came with a suitcase. We had no dishes, no glasses, no bedding or anything. I recall my mother hand-making pillows and pretty much all of my dad's pay would go to purchase necessities, such as bedding, towels etc.. slowly, one thing at time. I recall drinking out of jars for a long time until we got established. My mom never put eggs in her fried pepper sandwiches. It was my favorite sandwich too. I intend to try your nanas recipe of pepper with the eggs very soon. Families were close back then because they were poor. I don't wish the poverty on anybody but the family life and the true joy and happiness in those days was unsurpassed. I miss those times very much. Thank you for bringing back many of my own memories through these videos. I am very touched. May God Bless.
