Nest's second-gen smoke and carbon monoxide detector may have a slimmer profile, but the team tacked on quite a few new features.

Does the 2.0 work as a remote temperature sensor for the Nest thermostat? Say, your thermostat is downstairs and you want to monitor the temperature upstairs, where the Protect is, via the app or something like that.

Luis Munguia Nope - can your regular Smoke alarm monitor CO? Or can it integrate with Philips Hue systems to flash red lights all over your property? Yes it is expensive, but it isn't your regular $20 smoke alarm.

Clive is correct, it's amazing. and it tells you where it is so like if u can't hear it going off in your basement you can hear it up in your master bedroom.
