I'm happy to introduce what I feel is the most elaborate entry in the series thus far, "Sand: the Musical!" This idea was suggested by thatguyfromthatplaceoverthere on tumblr.com, and as a longtime fan of musicals I was excited for the opportunity. Props to my sister AmyTheArtist for the wonderful illustrations that bring this quirky little story to life. I hope you have as much fun watching this as we had making it!

I love the metamorphosis of this piece. Really makes it feel like an entire musical within 6 minutes.

Why can't she make herself gloves out of glass fibres? It would be rather scratchy, but since glass is made from sand, it shouldn't turn back into sand surely? It's like frozen all over again.... I'm thinking way to deeply into this.
On a side note, the animations for this were really amazing and the remixes were fantastic, you have pure talent that should be recognised by many more people than that who have already....
Alright I know this is 7 years old but I was just thinking about this. presumably she cant turn herself into sand, so maybe she could weave some gloves out of her hair or something

I tried to get their likenesses (as much as I could in this style anyway), so I'm glad to hear they look accurate! :)
I come back every few years for my sand content.
I like to think they either both turned into sand or the curse was broken and they live a happy life together...cause true love/magic/whatever :)

The concept of Sand Girl is definitely pretty morbid. Even though she and the Walrus do escape from the Bearded Man together at the end, it's not a really happy ending because they can still never be together without the Walrus turning to sand.
She's not gonna live a happy life. Nooooo way. No way in shit.

+Asta Hofferson Actually you're spot-on with the Bohemian Rhapsody part. That's what they were actually trying to sing; I attempted to disguise it as something else. Good ears there. :)

One thing though; the lyrics are always a bit hard to fully understand with these remixes. It sounds good, so I wouldn't change too much about it, but lyrics in the description would be very helpful :)

Maybe with enough pressure, this actually /will/ come out next July. I'd totally continue this story if I had any more relevant audio to work with, but the ball's in Hat Corp's court, not mine. Until then, you'll have to draw your own conclusions about what happens to Dr. Walrus and Sand Girl. I like to think they'll learn how to love each other without making skin contact, but it's also possible that she'll turn the Walrus into a sand sculpture and keep him on display in her house so they can be together that way. Who knows?
Maybe aquatic mammals are immune to the curse? And he's a freaken Doctor! With time, he could find a cure! I belieeeeeive ;__;
Hat films have to provide intended audio for the end of this!
