  • The first in a series of videos dedicated to making one particular composition work on multiple systems. I chose a somewhat strange (but plausible) selection of platforms from the 80s, and you'll see more what I mean as the future videos are published. This was the system the tune was initially composed for.
    Yes, this is using the same trick as last video, glad you asked. :P

    This is a nice little tune and sounds like it'd fit right in as game ost for the speccy :D

    How did you do that envelope volume trick?

    • @ttwtunes
      @ttwtunes  Před 3 měsíci

      You mix the envelope with a square wave at the minimum period of 0 :] Even with the Amstrad's relatively slow clock speed for the chip, it's still well above the audible range of frequencies, so the effect is that the high and low portions of the square wave "average out" to a DC offset halfway between the two levels, and *that* is what the hardware envelope ends up acting upon.
      In Furnace Tracker specifically its a bit tricky to pull off depending on what you're trying to do with it (linear pitch definitely needs to be turned OFF), and unfortunately I can think of a couple cases where the only possible way to achieve the effect is to manually copy down envelope periods and input them as effects, in which case... just use Arkos Tracker 2 :P

      @@ttwtunes Or, you can use FurnaceB and directly set the periods to 0. 😄😄
