    Whatever the Japanese find their hands to do they transform into an incredibly beautiful piece of art. Their craftsmanship is the worlds finest. I have the utmost respect and adoration for the Japanese people and how they go about mastering their chosen crafts. The attention given to the tiniest of details is astonishing to say the least. From making knives, to carpentry, to engineering, to gardening, whatever, none do it better than the Japanese. EVERYTHING can be made into an art form for the Japanese people and I so admire them for that.

    The chartreuse colour of spring as the sunlight streams through the new leaves makes me long for spring in my part of the world. I”m eagerly awaiting for the snow to melt so I can plonge my hands into the warm earth. Thank you 🙏🏻 so much for these lovely videos which are so inspiring!

    I arrived at this channel from an aquascaping perspective, and I love this too! Also, I can see very similar things like rock placement and plant placement from aquascaping to gardening. I feel aquascaping was born out of gardening, and I'm coming back to its roots to learn more. Thanks!
    p.s: ship me some of those rocks, I can displaying it in a nature aquarium 😋

    Matsunaga I would love to see you have every Japanese garden project in Japan being filmed - perhaps National Geographic would be interested in funding you. Certainly, I feel that the Japanese government should provide you a grant so you may continue. These are wonderful. I wait each week and hope that you can release another one then remember it's next weekend. I just want it to go on and on!
    A waterfall - I can hardly wait!!!

    What surprised me, though, is that it seems to get very cold in the area where the house is located, the windows are only made with single glazing. It must get very cold inside in winter.

    Another wonderful video! I can think of two enhancements to your productions that would be very useful, at least to me as an aspiring gardener in the Asian tradition. The first would be a short visual at the end of each project showing and labelling each planting its final placement. The second would be a music playlist for each episode. Love it!

    I can't but envy the owner of this house - I would be LIVING in this bath tub once it is all finished 😂 I am so looking forward to the next steps - as it happens we are also planning a small pond with a tiny waterfall for this year. So I will certainly find lots of inspiration and advice in your videos. Thank you so much for filming these beautiful projects! 🙏

    To establish the shape of the ground level, is it a particular soil used? It looks a bit sandy.

    I feel that I can see the difference between a garden constructed in Japan compared to a Japanese style garden in another country, even by workers are Japanese. The Japanese national gardeners have a honed sense of studied yet intended nonchalant, refined approach. This is very difficult to achieve. Everything just sits correctly. This is not the case when I see a Japanese garden overseas. Even in a mature garden like the one in Portland, which is amazing but lacks the same refined finish. It somehow looks too contrived. I remember when a I visited a friends family in Japan, I was there the day that their large garden rocks were delivered. These were large stones off loaded from a flatbed truck. The rocks were to be observed by the family for about a week and later by a rock placement specialist. We all sat down and and turned the hose on the rocks to see the real colors in the stones, we dark tea and walked around them observing on what we liked about each face of each stone. That would never happen in Canada. I miss Japan.

    • @JapaneseGardenTV
      @JapaneseGardenTV  Před 24 dny

      I think that is exactly right.
      I also feel that that is by far the most different part.
      I think you are great to be able to notice that difference.
      I would like to share that difference with many people, but it's not easy for me to do so either.

      @@JapaneseGardenTV I lived in Kyoto for 4 years so maybe my eye can catch such things. Just keep going and posting videos. They are relaxing, for us to watch. I like when you go back to revisit a garden, we can see it after it " grows up" and after nature has applied her make up to the landscape. It is like watching a magic show when we see your work after a few months. For me, I especially enjoy snow scenes and I would like to look out at a tsubo niwa from indoors during a snow fall, although it does not snow often in Kyoto. Anyways thank you from Vancouver for your hard work and good eye.
